Anything unique you want to report besides a bad/trolling player?
For me, I hate seeing BTB games where the enemy team holding other players hostage in BTB matches. I just had a third match that did this, and its not a fun experience. Holding it out for a while to challenge the enemy team to get it back is one thing. But knowing that half the enemy team already left, and camping the flag AWAY from the capture point is a whole other point. That is toxic.
Unsportsmanlike like content ( cheating, griefing, intentionally trying to force your team to lose, ect. )
People who are genuinely nasty to others in games
Stuff like that…
Give me options not to play with said people again too. I’d love to black list people who do this and more ( quit early because they’re not getting their way ) so I never have to be teamed up with them again.
There definitely A LOT, more than that. Even in real sports, un-sportsmanship can be called upon players. A video game is meant to be fun for all people and there are more ways to ruin that than just cheating.
Only in hosted like tournaments. Good luck with calling out minor things like that in a game of B-ball in a random neighborhood against random people.
You changed my mind. There is one other thing people should be banned for along with cheating. We should have a report button on Karen-level snitchers. Because seemingly there is a subsect of “gamers” that enjoy reporting every little thing that goes on ruining the fun for everyone. Even in the real world Karens cause issues.
Some level of sportsmanship is required in any team oriented game in order for the game to actually work. Regardless of it being a professional or ranked field or social. If they don’t put in some effort to respect other people on their team, then the game will forever be a failure.
Think of it like a board game, in order for it to function in a way that people would feel like they’re having fun, they had to create a set a rules that people have to play by. Other wise there’s no stopping a person to instantly move to the end and claim that he is infact the winner. Thus only that individual may have fun, at least till everyone else left and he had no one that would even consider playing with them.
But this isn’t a local neighborhood. Its a wide network game shared across two platforms with a multitude of people around the world. If I dropped you two Xbox’s and two TV’s and asked to play LAN, then you may have a point.
You got me in the first half, not gonna lie
If games were as casual as you portray it, there wouldn’t be any report system with categories for any game. However, its there for a lot of games. I don’t know what portrays you to sideline video gaming as an unmindful activity, but that’s simply not been the case since, ever.
Namecalling is definitely something that can’t be stopped, especially in voicechat. I think I a have a list of unread voice messages in my inbox that I keep forgetting to read.
But it can be a tag along reason if their words are also portrays their activities if trolling in-game
Buddy. You brought up real sports and are now making the argument that bringing up real sports is stupid. I agree btw. They are not comparable.
I was portraying the answer to your question, “what would you really want to report?” And I said the only thing I’d want to report is cheating because anything less than that it not worth me reporting and potentially banning a person over in a video game. For some reason you felt like correcting my answer as if you know what I personally think is worth reporting better than I do. Kinda like a Karen.
I don’t care about team killers. I don’t care about people with -KD. I don’t care about people who play slayer in CTF. If you care, that’s awesome. Just don’t ask questions if all you care about is your own opinions.
Oh, right. Even though I dislike your opinion, I forgot about what my thread was about, sorry.
Just by the way, I am not talking about any of this. I am talking about teammates that hide hold the flag in the corner of the map from being captured. Enemy players trapping the enemy team by not ending the game, forcing them to leave and risk consequences. Team players purposely running it down even in a ranked match, just because they dislike their teammates.
Bad players, accidental teamkill, slayer in CTF, even not grabbing power seeds in stockpiles are unavoidable problems.
I don’t report quitters as much, they’ll get their bans if they quit too much out of games as consequence for their bad actions. Unless maybe I run into them multiple times over the next set of games in a row. Maybe if it were ranked I’d consider that, were losses actually have large impacts to other players.
The options though for reports are:
Cheating
Discriminator Language
Harassment or Bullying
Vulgar Language
Team Killing or Self-Destruction ( Griefing pretty much )
I report quitters only if I notice their actions before hand. If they playing like they are buggin out and out of their control then leave, ill just assume its not their fault and leave it as it.
But if they seem dandy and I can tell they just suck and playing bad and decide to leave, get ready for the ban hammer
