Yes, but you obviously shouldn’t have to do that. Pressing B should suffice.

I suppose he can unplug his Xbox or maybe eject the game also. Why would you tell him to sign out? It’s obvious that the result would be the same but then let’s get the fire team & party back together, etc, etc. OP had it right, the ones who developed this game should address this because it’s not an isolated case. Sign out? Are you for real ?

Fastest thing to do is dashboard, press start over the game and select quit. Game loads fast, so this doesn’t hurt that much.
this sucks cause every time this happens i get loaded into a game and have to play cause if i quit too many i could possibly get banned… so i agree with OP!,
It should be on a priority for a fix because no it is not an isolated incident as said above and this along with other issues is making players go to other games before Halo
I just quit. They can ban me if they want, I’ll just play something else that makes a bit more sense.
Dude that always happens to me, usually after the 3rd try it works.

Yea man like the other guy said. If it refuses to let you back out IMMEDIATELY dashboard and “start quit”. I found that if i just push b and choose “leave” it sits idle for a few seconds like nothing is happening and then it backs me out.
Yeah this drives me mad!

once the match starts loading you can quit anymore. Anytime before than you can hit B and you can back out. Sometimes you have to wait a few seconds for it to register, but it does eventually back you out. The best time to do it is when your in intermission.
Restarting the game usually always works if nothing else does.
We are already 3 months and multiple updates into the game already. The OP is pointing out a common glitch that does need addressing. He’s logged over 250 games played so I’m sure he doesn’t need band-aid solutions. Now I will say that the " quit game " function which I learned about during the MCC debacle definitely has its needs but how is this convenient for your party/fire team?
