This has been a serious situation that all of the other Halo’s have experienced. So, community, when Halo:4 is released and time passes by, will 343i simply let go of Reach, and stop updating it? Will the game soon become what Halo 3 or maybe even Halo 2 maybe became when Reach was released?
It would be amazing to see that 343i keeps Reach alive and maybe Resurrects Halo 3 with updates and maybe, but with doubt, Halo 2. The community always has complained about how dead a game has gotten since the release of another game, like when Halo Reach was released, Halo:3 practically lost most of it’s population. But there are other games that lowers our population in Halo as well.
So, what I’m asking is, would you like 343i to keep Reach running, and maybe resurrect Halo 3 and possibly Halo 2? And as a side question, would you continue to play past Halo’s when Halo 4 is released?
Before you answer, think about the short term and long term decisions!
They might upkeep Reach for awhile but it wouldn’t be for a long and they definitely won’t update the old ones. They want to focus their time and efforts into their new game.
I also wouldn’t want them to spend their time updating old games. I’d prefer them to focus on Halo 4.
While they’re putting lots of time and effort into making Halo 4 as good as they possibly can, there is sure to be some issues they’ll have to fix. They’ll also be updating Spartan Ops with new missions, adding/editing/changing playlists, fixing any bugs/glitches, and making any updates that are necessary.
We want Halo 4 to be as good as it possibly can be. This new trilogy of games is the future of Halo so we want them to focus their efforts on these games for the future.
> I fear that Halo 3 is going to die out completely once Halo 4 comes out, which will most likely be the end of my Halo career.

The next entry in the series is taking elements from the last game in the series. That’s how it’s always been.

Yup. If there are features in a game that are popular amongst many of the fans, then those features are bound to be included in the sequel.
They want to please all their fans and to do that they can’t just ignore all the features Reach added. Some of us may not like some of the features in Reach but they have fans that do.
When H4 comes out Im gonna burn my Reach disk in fire or find epic ways to destroy it. I suggest everyone do the same. Its a disgrace to the Halo series.

Those features were part of a spin-off game(Stated by Bungie) to the Halo trilogy called Halo Reach. Halo 4 being the next installment in the main Halo franchise with MC+Cortana returning, I would expect that it mirrored its predecessors more rather than the spin-off, but it looks like it will be more like Reach plus new gameplay mechanics that its adding. This is a little disappointing to me, as I like many Halo fans lived and breathed the Halo trilogy games for years and dont think it needed such a dramatic re-inventing of the multiplayer. For example, by putting in default sprint 343 is stating “Sprint is better than high default movement speeds” and by expanding on the loadout system is saying “Loadouts/classes is better than the traditional Arena style of Halo multiplayer” which I dont agree with in what started as a medium-paced Arena shooter that had a distinct feel and balance to it. I also highly question the move of making power-ups spammable AA’s that removes an entire resource component of the game and promotes relying on those abilities rather than player skill and knowledge of the map.
Originally I wanted to connect this video to this thread… with Reach falling and such… but I just don’t see how. Dr. Halsey really goes off on one about Noble Six. xD
