In the H4 trailer MC is using rocket boots, how and when did he attain them?

Re-watch the trailer and if you look closely you’ll see that the propulsion is actually coming out of his back, not his feet.
Then look at pictures of Master Chief and all will be clear.
Apparently,ever since his armor change in Halo 2,the Master Chief has had a thruster pack in the back of his armor near his shoulders.The reason this was not seen since that time is because these thrusters aren’t the equivalent of a jet pack and are suited to zero gravity scenarios.There hasn’t been too many of those situations since he went from Mark V to Mark VI armor,but it seems like thats all about to change…

This. Although the zero-g boosters would have been useful in H2 when defending the MAC station in the first level.

And risk floating off to space? Nope. However, in the ship thing whose name i forgot, he can grab stuff and has magnetboots, along with a ceiling.
