How many days ago was it?
When I signed into Halo 3 tonight I was expecting the usual 5000 population but I signed on and I encounted 45,000 players online and I was like wtf. lol but also happy because Halo 3 is back and popular , at least for now.
So has the population risen because of Halo 3 being a free download now? and if that’s the case when did Halo 3 become the free download game?
Wednesday and yeah that is why there are more people on it now, plus old Halo fans are trying to re-populate the game to show 343i that Halo 3 is the kind of Halo we want, not Halo 4.
That’s a great idea so now 343 will look to bring some Halo 3 Features into the upcoming game Halo 5.

Halo 3 became free on Wednesday, October 16th. The increase in population is mostly due to the fact that the game is now free. Time to celebrate, right?
Keep in mind that Halo 3 is free as part of Microsoft’s Games with Gold promotion. It will only be free until October 31st. After October 31st, the game will go back to it’s regular price.
