When can I expect the free month of Gold?

I’ve yet to receive any messages about the free month of Gold from the apology, and Microsoft support was not able to see a free month added to my subscriptions.

When I look at my subscription history, the current subscription ends at 3/15/2015, and the previous subscription entry ended at around 6/30/2014. I’m led to believe that’s not a ‘month’ of gold, so from the little information I have available, I have not received the free month yet.

I had to actually go into the Xbox Support online chat and ask for my free 1 month since I still didn’t receive it via email or Xbox message. And they also advised me to check back with them nearer the time when ODST comes out, as they said that since I didn’t receive the 1 month of gold they didn’t think I would receive ODST for free either.

Are you trying to say that Xbox Support honored 343’s apology offering and gave you the free month of Gold? If so, I’d love to see proof of that, as everyone on these threads (myself included) has had a very different experience with Support.

The roll out of the free month is still continuing and will keep going through February until everyone has it (Bravo confirmed this recently). It should be automatically added to your account, though you may not receive the message straight away to let you know you have it. http://commerce.microsoft.com can help you match up dates of you subscription and give you an idea if you have it yet or not, though I have noted that there are some inconsistencies with this so it may not be 100% the best way to tell.

Not sure exactly how to prove it other than pasting the entire email (minus a few personal details of course). So heres the email they sent me (the code has already been redeemed, just in case anyone tries to use it):

Thank you Phil Mitchell62. As I mentioned, most of the other posts I’ve seen match my experience, which is to say that xbox support has more often than not said either:

  • You need to contact 343 about this
  • Xbox support will try to contact 343 and get back to you

Here’s a brief excerpt from my online chat with xbox support (note, I got the rep to call HMCC a ‘broken game’ XD )

And what we are going to do, is we are going to document on your request since you send a follow up already from them without any reply. And we will make a follow up on this for you so you will received the free Gold as they promised.

I have yet to receive any of the promised email updates about this issue I have open with support, but if/when I do, I’ll post them here.

Chatted with Xbox support again. Sadly, no further information, and no provided month of Gold like Phil Mitchell62 posted.

Update - received a console message that included a code for a free month of Xbox gold. My subscription history on the microsoft site is still really janky and doesn’t nicely read out logical start and end dates, but I was able to verify that they seem to add up to the appropriate amounts of subscription time with xbox support’s help.

You should have received an xbox live message saying a month has been added to youir existing gold membership

Hi. I have a slightly different problem. I received a console message with my 30-day code in it, but I didn’t get a chance to apply the key before the message was apparently automatically deleted. I’ve tried chatting with XBOX support, but they say there is nothing they can do to recover the message. Is anyone able to help me retrieve that 30-day code I received? Did it come as a standard XBOX message, or did it come via the Halo game?

I was sent a code to my Xbox one Inbox but the email has disappeared, does anyone know the process in getting the code resent. I tried Microsoft support chat but the chat dialogue box crashed (nice juan Microsoft!)

FYI - I was told by the rep I chatted with that XBOX Messages are automatically deleted after 30 days, and there is no way to recover them. Why that is, I have absolutely no idea. I’m in the exact same boat as you. Hopefully someone can help us out, but I’m not holding my breath.
