> I actually like the term “filthy casuals” I think of a nearly 40 year old that plays the game just for kicks and giggles just because he has played every halo since the beginning, unfortunately that describes me, but i don’t feel sorry for myself. it is funny to me to see some of you kids to compare my game stats. “news flash ha ha. and i still can yoink! you try-hard kids on any given day. imagine, you just got yoinked! by a 40 year old, im yo daddy boi!” yeah it was easy winnings in halo 3 but now the winning streak has ended.

> you kids have no respect for the veterans, therefore you will be the cause of the destruction of halo. Stay in you lane and keep that ruling try-hard mentality away from social playlist, if you want to continue to make halo a strong entertaining future for your children if you don’t care, well that 343’s problem.

> tryhards ruining halo is like an underage entering a bar demanding an alcoholic drink. just stop!

> another problem is we as loyal halo fans that will spend money are the ones that are idle in the game because we are not glued to the tv set all day long, sometimes we have to get up and check the oil in the wife’s car or something. then to come back to see “ban hammer strikes”. it may sound stupid to you but to us it make perfect sense to have the freedom to leave a game at will and to buy a req pack to make up for lost time but i will be buying no req packs as long as these tryhars are taking over .
Why on earth would you check the oil on your wife’s care mid-match? And why do you think the younger generation of Halo players owe you anything?
The younger generation is playing Halo the way that maximizes their enjoyment. Just b/c you have less time / focus now and can’t keep up doesn’t mean you should take it out on them.
And yes, I have a house, wife, career, etc. I played Halo CE day one at 18 years old (put those calculators away!) and I enjoyed it just like the next guy. This doesn’t make me more of a ‘Halo fan’ than someone who started with Halo Reach. Shoot, it simply makes me old (:
I think it’s fun to see the new generation push Halo to new heights. Time to take a backseat and enjoy the ride, old dogs. We can still play and enjoy the game as much as ever, find where we fit in, but goodness man… Let’s get over ourselves already.
If you think you can still keep up (I know I can’t), then get out there and mix it up with the new players and have a blast.
