When are executions coming back?

Show proof. Sounds like a lie to me

Since you’re too lazy to type it in google here ya go: (that’s one of many websites.)

Rude. Everybody with basic grasp of logic knows the burden of proof is always on the person making the claim.

here ya go

You wrote: “343 has said that a majority of players turn Assassinations off,”

They never said majority. They said “at a lot of levels”

You can’t even quote right

A lot of levels doesn’t mean majority. In fact we don’t know what it means. It might refer to top players turned them off. But there’s no way of knowing for sure.

As someone who paid a lot of attention to 343i’s PR campaign during the development and promotion of Infinite (2017-2021), their explanation for no assassinations was a topic that made news and was a fervent point of conversation on Waypoint/Reddit/Twitter, etc.

Burden of proof falls on the claim maker, yes, but that tends to apply in proportion to the far-fetchedness of the claim. Citing 343’s explanation on no Assassinations at launch is more a reference to something that was pretty common knowledge around here prior to launch than an outrageous and novel claim that needed evidenciary support built-on.

Ask for a source if you want and you’re welcome to consider 343i’s explanation to be disingenuous. Attacking a fellow forumgoer with something as blatantly accusitory as, “Sounds like a lie” is just kicking a hornet’s nest. I don’t know what polite reply you were expecting to recieve for that. Doing a modicum of research or simply politely asking for a source might serve for fewer flamewars in the future.

Instead of typing a cynical reply to my post, you could have used that same energy to type “why doesn’t Halo Infinite have assassinations” into google and solved this dilemma all on your own but here we are…

Also, I never attempted to “quote” them, I was merely relaying the point of 343’s message. If I wanted to quote them or if I felt that the information I was saying was completely made up, I would have just posted the link to avoid confusion. I figured it was common knowledge at this point since they made a big deal of it nearly a year ago.

You know if they ever did make a return that they would change the name to something ridiculously PG rated.

No it doesn’t. But even if it was the case, “far-fetched” is appropriate considering he misquoted it anyway

You did a poor job communicating. We all make mistakes, just report accurately next time.

You hold an unreasonably high standard for debate etiquette if you honestly believe it to be incumbent on someone to provide citations for common knowledge.

You may not value precision but I do. If one’s intention is to be understood, he should be careful and clear with his words. Step up your standards.

The misquote was unsubstantiated. I googled it and there was nothing but reddit speculation

It seems you’re clearly more interested in being truculent than having a good faith debate on the merits of the subject anyways.

If that were the case, I wouldnt be communicating to get to the bottom of it, now would I?

You’re playing a game of semantics and “gotchas”, not discussing the topic of the thread. You come out of the gate swinging at someone with accusations rather than asking questions.

“Sounds like a lie” vs “I’m not familiar with that/I didn’t interpret those comments the same way you did”.

Something about more flies with honey than vinegar.

But hey, you do you.

I typed “Send proof” first. Thats an inquiry

If you’re going to nitpick, do it correctly

Here you are talking about an imaginary quote

So you admit your quote is imaginary. That’s all I wanted you to confess to. Thanks

Plot twist, genius. The quote never existed, YOU created it lol

Huh. I read it more as a demand than an inquiry, especially when you follow it up immediately with an accusation. But we’re clearly not on the same wavelength when it comes to definitions, anyways.

You’re free to die on this hill if you want, but I’m gonna duck out on a hard “agree to disagree”. Bit of a shame, though. I was trying to pluck up the courage to ask you if you might autograph my copy of “How to Win Friends and Influence People.”

Peace :v:

Nevermind, Im ducking out of this conversation too

Why would I want an annoying animation to run in a shooter game? It serves no utility at all. And in fact hinders you.

Also the levitation would be nice to return.

Did I say you said that? You have issues following, huh?

That wasn’t me claiming you stated that. That was me accusing you.

Nah, levitation can stay out, go play destiny if you want that

I just checked the post after 3 days. Didn’t think it would get such a big response or start arguments. Oops hahahaha
