When are executions coming back?

People hate fun. I swear. Look at what they did to the mangler. The crack and smack was part of what made it unique. It’s like making the energy sword a two hit. I never really cared about the above ‘issues’ with executions. It was part of the fun in a videoGAME

Agree 100%. Other games that have assassinations are incredibly popular, especially COD with the sheer amount of montages people make of their kills. Halo even has tons of assassination montages as well.

Just a made up statement to account for them not being able to implement them at or even remotely near launch.

The executions will only be back after a certain amount of microtransactions have been processed over a set period of time, along with over 75% of all players (current and former) purchasing 5 battle passes.

Then you can purchase each execution for the low price of $7.99 after beating Infinite on Legendary, by yourself, without dying.

The thing is if you didn’t like and want assassinations for whatever reason you could easily disable them, so it pleased everyone. Saying I don’t want them in the game means nobody should have a choice whether to use them.

They’ll come back eventually.

Majority do not, maybe the majority of sweathards in 5, but not the majority of reach or 4 at allllllll.
Only comp players turn them off.

They’re trying to make them a risk/reward and will be trying to figure out what extra benefit they should give, like glory kills in Doom.

For sure

Hopefully never, to be honest.

I have never been a huge fan of Assassinations. I thought they were neat in Campaign for cinematic kills, but they absolutely break the momentum of a match in Matchmaking and leave you vulnerable if you do them at the wrong time (I.E. I held the melee button for 0.01 of a second longer than I should have, and am now locked in to the animation). I’ve also seen plenty of idiot teammates get themselves killed because they’re going for the Assassination instead of the Back Smack.

Plus it sucks to be on the receiving end of it. Whereas if you get back smacked, you get into the respawn queue faster, you have to sit through the Assassination animation and wait for it to end before you can play the game. This is basically an extra timer on top of what’s already there, and the respawn timers in stuff like casual Team Slayer are way too long as is.

They will come back when they find a way how to monetize them aggressively.

I like Gears of war so I really like executions. They add a lot of variety to the animations

Never, they take too many resources and offer a competitive disadvantage. Now they would rather make thousands of dollars worth of wacky brightly colors cosmetics to sell in the store.

Hopefully never to multiplayer. Would like it as a Campaign thing though.

I’m picturing some sort of animation at the end of the match where members of the winning team execute the losing team. You can buy different animations. Then they’ll come out with a bunch of different types like Friendships in Mortal Kombat.

But I digress. Despite how much I liked them in other games, I don’t think I’d use them outside of the campaign. I’d rather give someone a quick smack in the back and be on to the next.

Also - you can turn them off in other games?

If they bring them back, and I turn them off, I don’t want to see them at all. By that I mean if someone uses it on me, I don’t want to see it. If they use it on someone else, I don’t want to see it. Make it strictly an exerience for the person who chooses to turn it on.

Don’t shoot the messenger but according to 343, players weren’t using assassinations enough to justify adding them to Infinite’s launch. I don’t know where they got the data or which game they are looking at, but apparently Assassinations just aren’t worth it to 343 at this moment.

I can’t say I miss assassinations. H5 did have some pretty fun ones though, I’ll give it that. But function wise, I prefer the back smack-- quick and quiet. Infinite feels a bit more like classic Halo without assassinations, and I don’t mind that either.

And this is why it will never come back. If you turn it off, you are at a strict advantage vs the person who chooses to have it on. This also makes your Ninjas much smoother and faster and you can do the kinda the thing where you Ninja multiple people in a row.

Since it’s either gonna be a “everyone has it” or “no one has it” thing, it’s safer to just not have it. But in Campaign or PvE though? Sure, put it there.

My dude, they are at least, at minimum a year maybe a year and a half away from having a content complete game…
assassinations are at least that far away at a bare minimum

What if I assassinate someone in your view what would happen for those few seconds? Could you save your teammate/steal my kill?

I really don’t want to have to deal with assassination challenges too.

I liked the H5 assassinations, but some of them were just too long animation.

It’s got to be quick and cool, not some killer instinct ultra combo kinda thing.

They need to come back, but it’s another feature they said wasn’t used enough so it was removed. They are scrambling to finish content, with priority dictated by poll.
