This winds me up! Why is Wheelman not counted as an assist! I love driving round with my homies in the hog, but at the end of the game sometimes it looks like I’ve contributed nothing to the game. I feel sad. Either give it as an assist, or show the medals to make me less a tiny bit less n00b.

I know right?! This is the biggest reason why i am not likely to use a warthog req.
If they gave some type of credit to the driver more people would use a warthog. It should be an assist at the very least

It’s kinda sad to drive around your team mate(s) for most of the round with them getting on a Spree and seeing yourself ending up on one of the last places in the carnage report 
It should be considered as an Assist in my opinion!
Would be nice if they brought the Wheelman Spree medals back, too

I completely agree my buddy loves driving the hog. and we know that he helped but it sure looks crappy when he has 1-2 kills 0 assists and 20 wheelmans that you can’t see because there is no post game medal count!
The obvious explanation is, it isn’t an assist because you didn’t actually contribute to the damage the spartan took. At least it counts towards vehicle skill medals.

This is why, yes driving is important but it’s also different than actually putting damage on an enemy. Also, if you’re in a situation where the warthog doesn’t need to be moved, but the turret can still rack up kills, someone could just sit in the driver seat and rack up assists that they are literally doing nothing for.
If you splatter someone with the hog does the gunner get a splatter credit? Or anything?

im glad someone said it before i went off on my 3 paragraph speech on the semantics of an Assist and why drivers are already rewarded enough
Because 343 attention to detail stinks. Just like how btb ctf and strong holds don’t count towards comindations and achievements.

I have to admit, that I never thought about this point.
Yeah that is a fair point, but you also have to say that when a warthog is moving, that kill would not be possible without the driver. It’s a tough call. Just need to have a medal count showing in the post game summary - as a min.
