I’m guessing we’ve all had those moments with teammates that make you want to put your fist through the screen, what are some of yours?
I play a lot of firefight in Halo 5 and I’ve seen just about every form of trolling. But none of that bothers me as much as people who stand there and do nothing but occasionally nudge the controller so they don’t get booted for inactivity. One time, I was irritated enough to send a message saying “please don’t afk boost”. Got a reply saying “I was eating and it’s firefight”.
I didn’t reply to that, but it’s dumb because first of all why eat when there’s a Halo match going on? And secondly just because “it’s firefight” doesn’t mean it’s ok to drag your team down. Some people like to actually win the matches, you know? And we barely scraped by for this one, having killed the final bosses with like two seconds to spare. It wouldn’t have been so close if this person was pulling their weight.
So, really, nothing rage-inducing. I’d like to think I’m pretty chill when I play Halo, but then again, I rarely play anything besides firefight in Halo 5…
Constant team killing in grifball, not working as a team, and ppl in wzff not using vehicle reqs or higher reqs in general costing us the win.
Doing your absolute best but getting a bad K/D and having a team mate send you an abusive message for being a noob…
A Team that just camps at spawn and waits for walk bys
Getting your assassnations stolen and teamkilling.
Being a 147 & getting placed with Level 10 players
I still remember that Covie Slayer match, never been so angry like that in my life
When they don’t meme with me and take the game too seriously. I swear it’s harder to make friends by doing silly things in halo 5 than it was in the other halos
Some people take this way to seriously, If I’m in the fight I fight the good fight, regardless of my KD ratio etc, however there are times I leave the room to attend to something but that is rarity. All in all its probably the most professional and mature gamers out there. Its always a joy to play Halo with this group we have accumulated over the years. If you doubt my words go jump in COD and deal with that crowd.
I think betrayers are obviously the worst, but I also can’t stand the ones that just try to piss you off. For example, when I’m playing FF in a vehicle and my teammate in another vehicle will try to purposely block me from going anywhere.
On the plus side, I had one game where me and two other teammates were in Mantises and in-between the round we all spontaneously just started huddling together while bagging and shooting into the air.
I’ll crib from an earlier post of mine; I’ve had something of this ilk happen twice.
> It occurs to me that I should mention a game of war zone I had a few months ago on stormbreak. There was a guy on mic screaming at an infant crying in the background. He didn’t even have the decency to quit or go afk to deal with his child. He just screamed at it.
Both times I was horrified; worse for me than any betrayal.
They all quit.
When you’re on the last round of WZFF and some teammate splatters you. There’s never really the boot player option, and I have to wait half a minute just to spawn back in.
Then we lose the match because the boss had a smidget of health left. Know what I mean?

It takes 3 betrayals for you to have the option to boot.
I was playing BTB CTF, and my teammate tried to teamkill me because I had the flag. First time, he succeeded, and we lost the flag (he died immediately after)
He also tried very hard to splatter my teammate that had the flag, but missed each time.
He betrayed me again, and when I had the flag for the third time, he did it again. Can’t tell you how fast I hit the boot option when it came up.
Most of my worst experiences are when I come in last place, but still did pretty good.
My teammates just did way better than me and made me look bad. They even unironically messaged me “good job” and I’ve never felt worse.

That’s good sportsmanship and what teammates should be like! Don’t feel bad I’m sure this has happened to most of us at one point or all the time like me LOL
Occasionally I get betrayed but I have to say that what bothers me more than that is not feeling supported by a team. Like if I get into a 15-20 second firefight with two or three people and manage not to die until the end, I find myself asking wtf the rest of my team doing lol. I mean you figure if you’re playing big team and it’s a three on one, you have distracted almost half their team and the rest of your team has a 7 vs 5 advantage. If they can’t save you, then in theory they should really be able to exploit that.

That kind of sucks but you know what’s much worse than that? When you’re on the last round of WZFF and some teammate decides to run around on foot in the main vehicle pathways, forcing you to drive slowly to avoid splattering them
Things that annoy:
1 - Mic’s open ALL the time, with baby crying, people shouting etc
2 - You are defending the flag area and a “teammate” kills you just as the other team arrive and take the flag. Then does it a second time!
3 - You req a weapon, die, then get back to it to find a “teammate” has it, won’t return it to you and just fires off ammo/rockets etc to waste it
4 - People who are good players sending us poorer skilled players the “QUIT THIS GAME” message when we have just had a sinker.
5 - You are in a firefight with someone and you can see a teammate standing there not helping, then after you die the “teammate” dies too.
A couple I forgot:
6 - You get into a warthog (as gunner or passenger) and driver takes you straight into a group of Ai’s who kill all of you.
7 - CTF a “teamate” has the flag and just has to plant it for the win, but, instead just runs around till either we kill him for the flag (then we get killed by the other team who have been given time to arrive) or the other team arrive and kill him/us.
And now the big one
8. You are waiting to join a game in the loading screen, its a 4 V 4 game but there is only 7 waiting. You wait a couple of mins then someone leaves, one second later a player joins so we would have had a full game but now we are back to 7 and still waiting. Then 2 more leave, one joins etc etc till the “Unable to match” screen comes up.
