Zooming in I mean, configs like Fishsticks and Hell Jumper. I’m not knocking them because they are CoD like, but because I feel like zooming in with a trigger takes literally no effort. I liked that everyone in Halo had to actually click and reclick out of zoom in firefights. Now you can hold down the trigger and I feel it presents an unnecessary advantage in Halo. Yeah I could easily learn the controls, but that’s not the problem, I just think it lessens skill gap. The instantaneous zooming is a turnoff and people think they’re badass for dominating mid-long to long range precision fights, when they are taking the easy way out.
Button mapping to your desire is one thing, but I think zooming should be left untouch imo, and in the next Halo games. Thoughts?
I like the zoom this way especially BECAUSE it presents a slight advantage for the normal control scheme. For the longest time I’ve resisted Bumper Jumper because I personally think any controller advantage is bogus and everyone should be forced into the same control scheme (and same look sensitivity). But that’s obviously never going to happen and so the next best thing for me is different advantages for different schemes. This way you win some and you lose some. But that’s just my opinion. And admittedly I don’t really care all that much. I don’t play to Be The Very Best anyway so what do I know or care.
I use halo 4 control scheme.
I think default should be letting you chose, well making you chose.
Heretics, the lot of them. RS or bust.
OT: I don’t mind that it’s in the game since that is a very standard control scheme that is present across nearly all shooters.
It’s not really just COD. It shows up in Destiny, Star Wars Battlefront, and MOHFL
Personally, I prefer Recon because RB to bash will never work for me. RB reloads, B bashes. That’s what it should be

Just wish it wasn’t present in Halo… never needed it before, but I guess it was introduced because 343 wanted modern fps players to be able to seamlessly jump into Halo without being too uncomfortable.
