Last night when plaing I had a ping around 40 ms, usually Halo 5 has around 80 ms in Slayer Arena.
Is this because of the free multiplayer weekend, seems like they have added more servers now or something, the gameplay is alot smoother all of a sudden!
And no I havent upgraded my connection, still waiting to get fibre connection to my house, playing on VDSL now.

If you have a Netduma or a router with networking monitoring you can check it up.
i have a wifi hotspot. I pay for 50 mbps but I get 5. my ping in games is never less than 300 ms and I have a strict nat. downloads take forever. my life sucks.
now I am getting a fibre optic connection, starting with a guaranteed 20mbps and open nat and if I have a good experience ill pay for more speed.

Sounds awesome! Keep in mind that even though networks have high capabilities actual speeds are usually a fraction of that.

How can you even tell what your ping is? I can test my XBL connection , but I have never seen the option to test my ping to the Halo servers.
Edit: I see your reference to Netduma now.
I posted about this last night. I had no lag, no data retrieving errors, and the req system loaded quickly. I hope it stays that way.

Im pretty sure they added more servers for the Firefight update, they will probably be removed again later. Halo 5 was flawless at the release too, but after Christmas 343 seemd to have done something with the servers.

Did you measure your ping via xbl?

My router does that yes, it pings the server you are connected to.
In Fifa my ms is all between 30 ms and 120 ms, but that game is host based, Halo5 is a server based game.
