just wanted to hear what you guys think the story will involve?
especially the guys who have read the books so they have more knowledge of the universe!
pure speculation is fine, just what you think could happen or even want to happen.
so heres my thoughts so far;
i thought this since i finished halo 4, i think chief is going to go ‘rouge’ in search of cortana and that is why a oni agent is after him.
as for the oni agent, i dont think its going to be one of the latest Spartans, but even if it is i have a feeling that its going to be one thats going to be attached to his ai or atleast sympathetic to what the chief is doing.
for halsey i think she’s going to want revenge on the unsc, but not to the point of turning on john or siding with the elite (i forgot his name), shes not going to know he’s going after cortana or even that somethings happened to her, i think she might find out and do what she can to join him.
and all i can think about the war sphinx in the first trailer is that it has some connection to cryptum where the ai in the ones in the book had remnants of the diadacts children but im not sure what sort of connection.

You are probably correct in assuming Chief has gone rouge. However, your entire theory on the ONI Spartan is completely made up.Theres absolutely nothing back the idea that he is close with his AI so he can sympathize with chief. That doesn’t even provide an interesting story.

I mean, Master Chief is on Sangheilios, then the Ark looking for Medicant Bias. How the Yoink does that even end up working? I’m at a complete lost here.
As for the ONI Spartan, clearly he’s doing something similar to the Chief. The poster shows both ONI Spartan and Chief in the exact same location, but (in my eyes) at two different time zones. So maybe the ONI Spartan is following/hunting for the Chief. Why? Well, Chief is the savior of Humanity, and a Spartan II. ONI can’t just have him roaming the galaxy, doing whatever he wants, ONI wants/needs him, so they send this ONI Spartan to go get him.
Who is the ONI Spartan? Well, in the Prologue cutscene in Halo 4, the interrogator wanted to know why Master Chief was so successful. Maybe this ONI Spartan is ONI’s answer to a Spartan IV Master Chief equivalent. Which would explain the mirror image in the poster.

hmmm so you think a part of oni has tried to create a spartan IV to rival chief but did not end up with the best results? it would give oni a reason to go after him!
plus if they replicated things the spartan II’s went through then its going to make them respect each other…possibly

343 Guilty Spark picks him up?
After the events of Halo 4, Chief joins the crew of the UNSC Infinity. But why did he leave? He went into hiding.
This new ONI Spartan is sent to Assassinate the Chief. ONI see John as nothing more as a expired piece of Military hardware. Laskey somehow catches wind of this plot to kill John (Possibly from Lord Hood?) and send the Chief into Hiding.
Where does John go? Sanghelios. Explaining the concept art piece.
There, John meets up with the Arbiter.
And all of this is happening when the Covenant are attacking Earth and a Civil war between the Elites are under way!
It is also Possible that we will get a split campaign. One playing as the Chief and one playing as this new Spartan.

I hope not - continually dabbing his helmet with powder would take away from the gameplay I think. Besides, Olive Drab is still the best color imo.

btw I agree with your theory about the Chief’s rogue status, as well as your plot points on Halsey’s general disposition, but I believe her hostility would likely be directed more towards ONI (ie. I’m not sure that she feels the same about the UNSC and humanity in general though)

GOD -Yoink!-! i usually check my spelling! i hate words :’) haha & now i cant get the formatting to format! D:
& i can see her her being hostile to both the unsc and oni command (not so much marines, spartans or crew, more towards the actual higher ranks, people of power) due to what happened in the prologue and in the spartan ops story.
id imagine she’d go to war with oni over john if this agent is sent after him
Master Chief isn’t rogue but the new character hunting him down is.
