What's your favourite Halo memory?

Just curious as to what some peoples favourite memories are throughout the years are of playing Halo. Could be your first time playing or anything really.

I’d say mine was almost every weekend/ summer I’d go over to my cousins house before I had an xbox and we would just mess around on Halo 3 campaign or forge and it was honestly probably one of the best gaming points in my life just for how fun it was. Eventually when he got XBL we would do multiplayer a little, we were both really bad at the time but it was just so cool finally being able to try online for the first time. A close second would be years later but going over to my friends house when we both had 360’s and having system link parties with us and a couple other people. Nothing about being better than anyone, just sitting back and just having a good time.

Finally getting to Inheritor rank in Halo Reach will always be my favorite memory.

My favorite memory was when it was summer and I was in the pool sad and angry that I would never get the security helmet and the katana for halo 3, because of that energy sword achievement and Spartan laser double kill achievement, I legitimately thought I would never get it. Then around a month later I joined a lone wolf game on high ground I think, and I managed to convince the lobby to just get achievements, and I finally got that Spartan laser achievement, I honestly think that might of been my best gaming moment ever I was so happy, I remember immediately getting in a grifball game and didn’t even play I was just messing around. Oh and this was before they added more achievements to get, so I got all the originals, pre halo 3 ODST.

Joining random servers in Halo Custom Edition and exploring/playing the many different maps that were being hosted. Most servers had maybe the same 1 or 2 maps that were popular, but every now and again you could find a gem. There is a particular series of roleplay maps that are simply called: “RPG_beta”. There are multiple versions and chapters, but my favourite was RPG_beta 6. It consisted of a huge airbase and an orbital elevator - both in a huge landscape. It always felt a bit zany to me, but also impressive given its scale. Despite being a roleplay map every server that I joined had about half of the players messing about and fighting; sometimes the admins would even join in.

I get together with my fiancee, sister and her fiance pretty regularly and we play a mix of Halo 5 and MCC. It’s always a good time to just relax, stay in touch and have fun. It’s especially good in a COVID world when there was a lot of distance between us.

For me it would definitely be making bases, race tracks, and obstacle courses in forge on Halo Reach with my brother and cousins. We would play for hours on four player split screen. We would always have 2v2 battles as well it was an awesome experience. Customizing our Spartans to be unique from one another was also really cool.

Getting my first taste of halo at a friends house almost a decade ago

Definitely playing Halo 1 on the original Xbox with my uncle when I was a kid.

My favorite Halo memory is on Halo 2, when I played in LAN when my friends or through XLink Kai too. I always played Shotgun and Swords on Midship and Lockout, and Snipers with BR in Lockout and Ascension. That was for 10 years until I get H5 and my Xbox One.
