Please, feel free to reference any game, this question isn’t exclusive to Halo 5: Guardians.
This is a tough question to answer.
Probably just the blaze and glory of the game. It’s fun to be almost a super human in a mega suit who has a character and story behind him. Multiplayer wise, everything. It’s like a big first person shooter sandbox, especially H5 forge.
The lore also goes into so much depth. I don’t know why, but I love the lore.
What I liked about Halo was that there was something for EVERYONE. The gameplay was simple and dumbed down, yet worked extremely well and felt very polished and wasn’t hard to get used to. The multiplayer had a huge variety of slayer and objective gamemodes (Oddball, CTF, Territories, KOTH, Juggernaut, Invasion, VIP). It was a game that appealed to both casual and competitive players, something most games struggle to accomplish nowadays. Its something Halo 5 has to an extent, but it’s still missing so many things and features that would make me consider it a TRUE halo game.
The feel of Halo: Reach. Fighting a losing battle, but “hoping” it’s not for nothing. Very much like many Samurai/Chanbara movies I watched over the years. It also introduced me to Halo & the expanded universe, a story I find as every bit as epic as Star Wars.
atmosphere, music, and story
My favorite part would be when i started playing halo when it first came out and the excitement that you got from playing combat evolved. I also love reading the books on thr storyline that isn’t mentioned in the games.
I just love playing with my friends and all the silly moments we have. It is bad but I kind of like when we accidentally kill each other. Or when we all gang up on the random with us for being a jerk to one of us. HAHA
I love this whole unique community dedicated to Halo and making it better. But my favorite thing about Halo are the amazing memories I’ve shared through Halo, and great friends I’ve come to know through Halo.
Probably the weapons/vehicles
The beaultiful worlds
and the story (at least before Halo 5).

What do you think it is lacking? I personally feel the same way but can’t really pinpoint what it is exactly.

Which is your favorite game?
Duelwielding from Halo 2 was awesome. Reach had about best of everything almost. 4 had a great campaign, 5 was… good in terms of weapons and balance. ODST Campaign was stealthy and fun.
Staying up till 4am playing custom games on Halo 3. Infection, jump maps and gametypes on maps which made no sense. King of the Hill on Last Resort was a personal favourite.

Things that Halo 5 lacks that doesn’t make it a true halo game.
- Splitscreen - Oddball, KOTH, Juggernaut, VIP, One bomb and more gamemodes that have been in Halo for years - Maps that are well designed and meomorable (something Halo 5 desperately lacks) - An art style that doesn’t look Iike Halo - ADS really makes the aiming feel off and different and it was obviously ripped off from COD and other games.
The story.
Campaign and story.
Everything
That is quite the question… I like everything, but my favorite?.. I’ve been with Halo for 15 years and I think it’s the story line that has kept me hooked for long. I even like reading the little things and history that doesn’t make it into the games - I’ve got all the books up to this point. So the story for sure is my favorite thing, but as far as my favorite thing about the game…? Probably the multiplayer. The campaign is always good but there is something about competing against people from all around the world that I love whether it be Social, Ranked, Warzone, or Firefight. I love the competition.
Just Master Chief saving the whole universe.

I don’t know exactly, but I loved Halo 4.
