Pillar of Autumn because the fights in it are really intense, not to mention the Mac Gun.
I agree with you. It has a lot of the cool things. Vehicles to take down, a Halo styled vehicle dash, making bugs explode in caves, huge firefights with 30+ enemies at once, hold-the-fort action, even a special weapon, the MAC! Not to mention a cameo by Chief.
I thought the only good mission was Exodus. It actually felt like a real invasion. Covenant attacking civilians, people running around scared and screaming, evacuations, lots of casualties.
Winter Contingency and Pillar of autumn are my favourite.
The Package and Pillar of Autumn into Lone Wolf.
The Package because it shows the last of Noble Team together for the last time, and you get a really awesome defense portion at the end. Carter taking down to Hunters in CQC? Yeah. <3
Pillar of Autumn because of how varied it is. It has the rush at the beginning where you have to drive some distance before you can’t go anymore. Fight through the remaining Brutes and see your Commander sacrifice himself for you. Then make a final push to the Pillar of Autumn before you shoot down a Supercarrier and set her free.
Then, Lone Wolf where you have your last stand in the glasslands.
Silent cartographer…
I love Long Night of Solace and Exodus!
Having grown up as a huge Star Fox fan, it’s no wonder why I’m a big fan of LNoS. Who doesn’t love a good dogfight in space?! It makes me wish to see more of it in future Halo games. I also love fighting my way through a Covenant ship, only to have to quickly scramble back while punching my way through enemy forces. And the ending is freakin’ awesome!
Exodus just feels like a fun level overall. You start out with only a Magnum and with health damage, which I thought was a nice touch to continue the end of LNoS. As PersonofiedHell said, it felt like a true Invasion, and that there was a real sense of danger to the planet.

LNoS got stale and boring after 5 minutes.
I seriously hope 343 will revise then entire “space fighter” scenario entirely if they are doing it again.
And sorry, but “sense of danger” and “invasion”?
Can’t say, to busy driving my pickup truck around farms to notice anything.
Joke aside, Reach hardly gave out any sense of “danger”.
All you do is save some civilians and drive pickup trucks pressing buttons everywhere.
ONI, I never get tired of the designator =P
New Alexandria. Primary reason: the covenant glassing the surface and getting a flash back to the blast radius of independence day… not as epic, granted, but still gives me goosebumps when I think about it.
Kat was probably my favorite character so any mission w/ her. I really liked flying the pelican (Granted she was just in your ear). I thought the artwork / atmosphere / music was excellent in that mission. Then Kat dies… very sad :(. But… we had to do what we had to do and we knew there would be casualties.

You mean civilians running around getting in your way, running in front of you as your fire your weapon and restarting the checkpoint? Yeah, that was a blast.

It appears you’re referring to Kira Onime’s reference to Exodus, where he/she cited the “sense of danger to the planet.” I’ll come to your house and give you a blowie if you can show me where you “drive around farms” in the Exodus level.
This forum consists of 75% + (And thats being generous… its probably more) of people either complaining about Reach or Defending it (I love Reach). Here is a good thread where people actually talk about an aspect of the game they appreciate and yet there is still some who come in and complain… tells you a lot about what type of person they are.
I suggest more threads like these… I may try to do some cool clips of games I have every now and then and share them so we could perhaps add some positivity to the forum. I mean I respect peoples’ opinion for not liking it I simply don’t want to hear it all the time. I stopped frequenting the forum for a period because of it. I’m about staying positive.
For example… another, “Beloved” FPS series is Goldeneye. I played it to death in high school on 64. Then Goldeneye 007 came out on Wii… and I put probably close to 30 days playing time on it. It was amazing (Dual analogs suck for FPS games IMO). I liked it so much that when they announced Reloaded for PS3 / Xbox I bought a PS3 simply for that game. Reloaded was a HUGGGGEEE let down. Quite frankly its barely playable online.
Sure I complained about it for awhile… but eventually I moved on because I like to be emotionally, “Healthy” and not be in a space of CONSTANT complaining. Now I don’t even think about it. This is why I often refer to most of the complainers towards Reach as, “Sick” or, “Ill” because clearly their emotional attachment is in a disgusting state to be daily stating the same things. Its very hard to read…
So w/ that said… I say we move forward in a positive manner? WHAT SAY YOU?!!
I just played pillar of autumn today and had a blast! other than that ONI is so fun my friends and I love to split up and tackle both switches at once and meet back up at the base. plus at the end of the level is when Jorge finally starts to warm up to noble 6. Jorge’s death was sad
