Whats wrong with this community

Ok this is getting ridiculous. Why the -Yoink- are people still mad that these things were not at launch? I mean we all should know that if it all were available at launch that it would be just like MCC’s launch. BUGGY AND INCOMPLETE. We are down to our last coupe updates and still people are getting mad about this?
Also, whats with all the hate towards stuff they add. You wanted infection we got it you guys hated it
We wanted Halo; CE pistol most of you hated it
they have given us just about everything they can and the most of you actually feel like complaining.

It’s very hard to code certain tings like a falcon because its not exactly just grab it from reach and put it in, it takes some time/effort and the modelling team would have to remodel it anyway AND most of you would still complain that it sucks and that everyone should just stop playing halo.

And just think these are just a scrap, a mere morsel of what is wrong with the community.

Very few gametypes and content in general. Where is doubles, one flag, koth, oddball, extraction, territories, neutral flag, vip, one bomb, multi bomb, swat objectives, snipers, multi team, a team hardcore playlist with no radar and objectives game modes, ricochet, and so on? I can live with all the new player friendly attributes, even the horribly fast kill times, abilities, weapon locators, weapon respawn timers, but the fact that there is slayer, slayer variants, multi flag, strongholds, neutral bomb, and grifball as the only gametmodes is pathetic.

When you release a game you set the bar for people’s expectations. Halo 5 is the 7th FPS halo game released so far (I think?). You’d think by the 7th iteration they’d have the bare basics locked and loaded for the community. I mean seriously, most of the stuff missing from H5 was released standard with the other games. Yes, we received it all free later. But I can’t help but wonder how much more popular Halo 5 would have been on launch day if it came with what the community considers to be staples.

Half a year later infection (Halo’s most popular game type by far) is finally released and it has several gaping holes in it. Of course the community is still annoyed.

It’s mainly the people who don’t actually enjoy playing halo 5 for what it is that still complain. There should be mods who move the complaint threads to the feedback section so the “problems” of entitled people aren’t echoed.

The problem in my opinion is that all of these updates should have been included in the game since launch. Many game modes were left out and they should have been in the same since the beginning. Halo Reach had so many game modes that made the game fun to play.

It’s not that people hate it - it’s this forum.

Things which are contentious go straight back up to the top because just 3 or 4 loud and vocal people willing to keep whinging about something will keep a -Yoink- topic floating on the front page for hours.

It’s the internet and society’s current outlook on life.

Can’t exactly blame them there.

Also, obligatory inb4 “That guy” has to steer the subject elsewhere.

You’re not realy helping the problem complaining about complainers.

Just filter them out and move on.

Wait what? Are you comparing the launch state of a collection of games ported from two different older console generations that were also enhanced, given multiplayer back and running seamlessly next to each other so you didn’t have to wait for a new game to load each time, to that of a single game made for this generation?

Seriously, no. Unless i343 would be incompetent enough to launch a Unity launch state game, then sure, but I find it highly unlikely that more content at Halo 5’s launch would have put the game in the same state as MCC’s launch state.

It also baffles me how some people don’t think i343 could have implemented a well balanced Falcon, and variants of it, into Halo if they wanted to. It takes time? Yeah I’m sure it does, that’s why you generally skip the “last minute essay” mentality from school and actually plan and execute things in a timely manner at work. It’ll take two months for a smaller team to make the proper things for the falcon? Well then, better start doing it three months before the update it’s meant to be in will be released.

People will always complain, and you’ll find quite often that those who wish for something either aren’t the ones complaining, or what they got was something different than what they wished for.

Let’s make an example simple enough to prove the point.

Halo 6 doesn’t launch with CTF
People now wish for CTF
Later for Halo 6 there’s an update that brings in Stockpile from Reach, but it’s called CTF because essentially in Stockpile you Capture the Flags.

Yeah, let’s rant about how people get what they wish for yet complain about it.

The only complaint I ever saw about the CE pistol was that it wasn’t made as a Loadout weapon, but was put on one time use cards, and the textures.

Realise that complaints come from passionate people.

If 343i can’t make a game that included all the things included at launch 10 years ago without the game being a broken unstable mess then they should stop making games
That’s pretty simple

It’s possibly also misdirected frustration about the industry as a whole. Micro transactions, companies deliberately cutting content to sell later as DLC, companies releasing games knowing they are buggy because they can “fix” it later.

In the past a developer got the game as right as it was going to get. They couldn’t just fix it later. You put your money out for a game and that was it. You didn’t need to buy extra levels or wait for a patch to fix it. From my experience going back to Sega Master System I didn’t experience any game breaking bugs. I was happy knowing I spent my money and got a great piece of work. Now I buy a game and hope its not bugged so much it’s broken or in the case of games like Destiny wait to be forced to buy DLC just to play with my mates.

The industry has moved in line with mobile gaming and also PC gaming where you squeeze every cent out the game and fix it when you can. Whether it’s right or not people are getting annoyed and I think they are taking it out on the developers through forums.

In my opinion the developers have done this to themselves by leaving the door open. Having monthly updates to fix one issue which then breaks another all while trying to get money out of people through a random content micro system.

We’re broken :frowning:

,amy many thngs are wrong with this community just like every other damn thing in this world

I hate the triple-A industry as a whole, but on a personal level that’s also true.

If anything the fact that we’re down to our last few updates and there’s still stuff to be done basically validates everyone’s points.

I ain’t even mad.

2 words: vocal minority

> No these are just a few of the things wrong with the game , and why it no longer feels like Halo (to most of us , by your reckoning). Not sure 343 knows how to make a halo game. It’s OK , Bungie obviously had forgotten how while developing Reach.

Although i8 understand what you mean but it is worth noting that no single halo game has ever had all of these game types at launch as many are variants of each other added in different games throughout the whole series.

Dont get me wrong i love Koth and really want it in but asking for every single gametype that has ever existed in halo is unrealistic and has never happened in the past either.

Releasing a complete and working game is possible. It is not a case of one or the other. By acting like it is you are giving Devs the freedom to continue to work to one or the other.

One way of releasing a complete and working game would be to not release the game before you are finishing working on it. Neither MCC or Halo 5 were finished by the time they launched. Both 343i and MS would have known this but released them thinking “we can fix it/add it later” and you are telling them “yeah, that’s ok”. How about we take the consumer friendly road and tell publishers it’s not ok to release a game before they have finished making it.

If the Devs aren’t talented enough to do the work on time, or if they experienced delays (which is common), or if the deadline the Pub set was unrealistic for the vision of the game, then push back the deadline. You’re paying AAA money to a AAA Dev, funded by a 1st party AAA Publisher, you should be given a AAA game. Not an IOU for one. Stop being push overs.
