whats wrong with the grunts?

So me and my bud were looking at the new grunt photos and trying to see why everyone is complaining about them… We saw nothing wrong with them at all.

They look really cool and scary. It is 4 more years into the future. You guys that think its stupid and such are making a big deal out of nothing. The grunts look incredible. They’re also pirate grunts and not the real grunts from covenant so that’s why they could have changed…

Go to the other thread and find out…

Discuss it there, don’t tell me you haven’t seen the thread.

EDIT: LINK! Now migrate to that thread.

I agree, it feels nice to see “new” grunts, even new design for most enemies. The old grunts and they way they looked were partly due to artistic reasons and partly due to hardware and software limitations. They had to be “cheap” for the game to make, since there would be plenty of them at times (Firefight).
However, 343i has their own ideas and they will shape Halo in their image, and I think that’s fine. I love to see new enemies as well as a new design for old enemies, I want the game to feel new and fresh, like Halo 4, not 3,5.

They got a -Yoink!- change? LULZ! XD

i dont mind the new look of the grunts, but what has being 4 or more years in the future got to do with how they look, disregarding their equipment.

how did man kind change over time? same thing

extra fingers and toes. their changes mostly seem reasonable to me (although they dont look good to me) but adding an extra finger and toe? Sure its small but it just changes the canon

so mankind changed over the space of 4 years?

i think he means technologically and with intelligence. Over the last 4 years Humanity (not talking about Halo, i mean real life) has evolved, intelligence wise and technologically. However, we have not gained extra fingers like the Grunts in Halo 4 did

I’m indifferent.

Good: They’re like the aliens in the movie Alien. They fit their environment (which just happens to be in space). I suppose later, they’ll feel like Covies but in the first mission, they’ll be the most memorable and probably scariest ever in a Halo game.

Bad: Alien was never pure horror genre. It was all about mystery and suspense, horror came second. Likewise, Halo. So making them too much horror-like could tarnish the story.

It really has to do with the atmosphere. If they get that done well, then the appearances don’t really matter.

Their pirates now. That explains everything. It all makes sense now. They have gone from arthropods to reptiles because their pirates now.

I agree with the highlighted part

Having 6 fingers is the dominant trait for humans. Not many people have 6 fingers because there is no real advantage to it.

Evolution doesn’t work fast enough to give a species a new finger in 1000 years let alone 4 years.

There are people in reality with 6 fingers?? I knew a couple people had them from discover channel but I thought those were just VERY rare birth defects or something like that.

grunts have always had 4 digits on each hand

now they have 5. and even if i am wrong about the fingers, Grunts always had 2 toes, now they have 3

Maybe they’ve been Evolving away from the other grunts for a long time and we just haven’t encountered them.

i said disregarding equipment(technology) because i thought he was referring to physical looks, and the number of digits on the grunts hands hasnt changed.

they still have 4 fingers not 5, grunts had 3 toes now they have 4

Grunts always had 4 toes. The fourth was on the back.
