The same 3 topics have been in the featured topics for about a week now!
I don’t know if the forums aren’t updating right or if there really isn’t that many people on the forums lately.
I’ve kept an eye on the topics and it really doesn’t seem like there is much of a change on a day to day basis on replies, seems like other topics are getting more replies in a 24hr period. At least that’s how it usually is.
I think it hasn’t happened that much activity in the forums. It would be great if we saw the CM take part in the forum discussions.

It’s exactly what I’m thinking, feels like there just hasn’t been many the usual amount of people engaging in the forums.

I haven’t even seen any recent replies by Mods which is very sad. The discussion might escalate when Halo Wars 2 do get released.
It’s because the featured topics will be selected by 343’s forum team, rather than being based on the number of replies. See here for more details.

There was an update and now they are being selected. I kind of liked it how it use to be though.

Ya i haven’t seem CM in any community thread just the standard threads up top.
They Still haven’t changed.
Maybe the 343 forum team is busy with other things.

Yea it’s really a bummer, I went from going on the forums almost everyday to only once in awhile. This really discourages me at least and others I’m sure from wanting to log in.

yeah, same, I would read through all the community and halo5 topics before going to bed, but now I have to go through them manually

Yeah, that’s annoying. The worst part is that I doubt that they mentioned if there will be a community update this week.
Why does this happen!?!?
Featured topics started out as a good thing, but quickly became abused by people spamming so their topic would show on the front page. For me, personally, I welcome anything that doesn’t encourage spamming and makes my job a little easier.

If you’re only looking at ‘popular’ topics, then you’re missing out on a lot of threads that probably have good potential for discussion and ideas. It’s really worth having a quick browse through the forums to see what people are talking about.

They mentioned last week that there wouldn’t be a community update this weekend - it’s Thanksgiving in the US. Next community update should drop this coming Friday.
> And that will go ahead and do it for us this time around. With next week being a rather widely-digested holiday, expect things to be a bit quieter on the Update front for a spell while we recover from our respective fowl-devourings.

We’re in a classic lull period now: 15th annivis anniversary is past, HW2 release is still months away, etc.
It’ll pick up again - and the mods etc. need to have a break too
I think they changed the system so that featured posts now must be manually selected. I don’t really know if I like this, but I trust our lovely Monitors (or whoever will be doing this) to do a good job.
Ske7ch talked about it. If memory serves they’re trying a new featured system where they choose which topics are on the hot page and for how long instead of just cycling topics that have a lot of snowballing in the comments. Something alon those lines anyway.
