what's wrong with remixes?

Just wondering where all the hate is coming from. I think they’re ok, even if they’re not my favorite or completely “new” maps. They play different enough that it’s fine in my opinion.

You could make the argument that remixing a map isn’t really new content, similar to how the maps from Reach were pretty close to some places in the campaign, but I don’t really see how it detracts from the fun either way. Thoughts?

Its people thinking they are doing it because they are lazy and or uncreative. I personally dont mind remixes and presented this idea as a possible reason why they exist.

Remixes already have the base layout that can be rearranged and modified with ease. Giving the developers the ability to quickly provide us maps during these first few updates while they create original maps from the ground up (atleast one is going to be in the next update)

Ok, thanks

Nothing is wrong with them if they are done well. Riptide is an example of a good remix

Hey OP, what’s your favorite color?

They play different, they look different, I’m not sure why they don’t just make new maps.
I still have trouble with the layout of overgrowth.
At least they’re all super pretty. Not that you have time to look at them in a firefight.

I don’t mind remixes. But I would also like to see some fresh maps. May be one update provides a remix, and the next a brand new map.

They feel like a lazy way to fluff the game up and say we’re getting free maps. You get what you pay for.

Well remixes don’t play all that different. And for those of us who have been playing Halo awhile are used to good quality and diverse maps and we aren’t getting that any more.

One of the reasons H5 has gotten so stale for some so fast is because the maps are just remixes and play so similar it feels like the same game.

That way you get the best of both worlds! I’d love to see a rig remix or possibly some more warzone ones.

Riptide is not like Fathom at all. I think they did a good job on it.

It only gets stale when you have to play the EXACT same map three times in a row. I love playing truth and regret.
