Upgraded shields is A power up. All the power ups are good accept upgraded shields. It only gives you A half of 1% of your shield. Come on 343 you need to buff it.

No they don’t. It does what it’s supposed to, which is make you immune to sniper headshots. (Well, not immune but makes them need two shots which gives you time to evade.)

Not really. It gives you the chance to win a fight where the enemy only gets a couple of rounds in before you start firing in a full auto duel, and it really really helps if you get sniped as most snipers don’t have the raw power to break your shields in one shot still. (Can confirm standard beams and snipers can’t). Obviously as a sniper with a good squad counter sniping is your biggest issue so it solves that.
Long distances however you just get spam BRed and it does jack. You’d be better with a speed booster.

Oh, but it really is–and I think that you misunderstood me: I was saying that Upgraded Thrusters are useful for covering long distances quickly. It’s even better than Speed Booster if you sprint, thrust, slide, and then jump (all done with the correct timing), you can cover sooo much distance.
EDIT: Oh, a speed booster, as in a REQ? I usually rock Splinter Grenade Expert, because they’re just so useful, but if I’m putting on a speed boost, then it’s going to be at least x3. Nothing like crossing a quarter of the map with a single thruster-slide.

No not the REQ, I use then infrequently. Glowing makes me too noticeable.
Glowing isn’t a problem when you’ve got a Ravening Silver inside an armory/garage/fortress. =)
