Specifically in H1 and 2, it’s always the same few dozen people and they all act exactly the same. They get pissed off over nothing and team kill each other. Or they’ll just afk to “get back at you”. They don’t play any other games, including other Halos. If you look at their accounts you’d think they’d be smurf accounts, but they’re legitimate. They literally just play one game and some of them aren’t even ranked in anything. They just ruin social for everyone. It’s like these 40 year old boomers never moved on from the original Xbox. In fact they’re even more hostile than the pc guys. It’s absolutely pathetic.

SBMM keeps everyone together. I wonder if it’s even working anymore tbh, my friend is literally stuck playing in the same pool of bots but he’s improved massively over two years and doesn’t belong there anymore.
That doesn’t excuse the behavior of some of these people.
Same thing happened to L4D2 and most other “old” shooters: the more the playerbase ages, the less they are welcoming to newcomers since the only people still sticking around are tryhards chasing that high of “the good old days”.
Unfortunately Halo MCC just created an avenue for more people to experience it than anyone would naturally, since everyone shares the same matchmaking.
