What's with Noone ever in open chat

I noticed in mcc and now halo 5 no one chats there either in party or just don’t speak. This is a team based game and the to rank up higher you need to communicate. It amazing how peoplet can play without team communication

If you speak and ask if anyone has a mic. Sometimes they’ll come out and talk. People usually don’t talk if they don’t expect a response.

Because talking to randoms sucks.

the best games i have had with randoms made me tons of friends over the years

4-5 games a day i end up with a full team of 8 for BTB and at least 3-4 friends out of it

Surprised you’re having this problem at least 70% of the games I play I have multiple people talking. 20% just one other person and the last 10% it’s only me.

I’ve met 7 people online since halo 5 came out thanks to the small percentage of players who do talk and I also got lots to always have a full fireteam of at least 4.

Games definitely alot more enjoyable playing in a fire team

What’s actually more amazing is that they produced a game that is supposedly team-based, and yet there’s no pre-game lobby to see who has a microphone, no post-game lobby to party up, a ranking system that discourages playing with your friends…

That’s true it’s usually based off the highest ranked player on your team of friends. It’s hard playing with higher ranking players, which in turn means the higher or better you do the more team based fireteams you encounter making it hard if you don’t have a full fire team of your own who are all communicating. Meaning if you don’t have proper communication in the higher ranks you just go up and down and it gets old quick

people are probably shy, just want to be nosy, haven’t bought one yet. many reasons.
I haven’t gotten one yet but I like collecting them especially if they are Halo related so chances are I wont use it till I get the chance to purchase another one.
but yeah plenty or reason why people don’t.

I generally keep quiet till I hear another person, don’t want to be that guy that’s talking all the time or “giving orders”. Had a game last night with a friend I recently met and we were talking in open chat, super close game 1000-997, called out saying if we can take both armouries and hold we’ll win and that’s what we did. Unlike aftermath, who sounds like a ton of fun, I’ll talk to ransoms if they talk first (I am shy at first, silly I know).

Yeah same

“Game chat” was new and untapped in halo 2-3. It connected all of us and we were excited to run head first into the future exchanging with people around the world as we played together.

It’s really old hat by 2009. We get it. Mics, whoohoo

2012+ : PLEASE for the love of God, take your friends in party chat, it’s NOT that hard. Nobody wants to use game chat, it’s annoying and frankly outdated. purists want it to stay, but being as XBL is the WORST community in wich to discuss anything I would prefer to talk to my friends over chat or not at all, and you should do the same (please) because no one cares to hear their game chat feed flare up. I personally mute anyone who talks.

There are those people who:

  • Likes to play games without talking! - Likes to play games while talking!* Sometimes it can distract or confuse the person while battling an enemy spartan, not all people are like that but some people are.
  • Some people likes talking to other people and it doesn’t distract or confuses them.

I don’t like talking in game chat because people always start out friendly and then if we start to lose they turn into total -Yoink–bags.

Every time I put a mic in there is always some damn baby crying. So quite frankly I prefer not talking unless I’m in a party with friends.

I had quite a few folk using mics when I was playing WarZone last night, but after a few matches I eventually hit the screaming down the mic, some kid with obnoxiously loud music trying to rap over it, someone coughing for 10 minutes and someone shouting “Get REKT -censored-” for 2 whole matches. I wouldn’t mind talking to random players, but I just can’t deal with that when I’m trying to play and co-ordinate to win. I don’t usually run solo, generally have a party of at least 5 so we all hit up party chat

Annoying kids screaming for no reason, The loud music blaring through some random jerk’s mic making it impossible to talk. People being down right -Yoinks!- and taking the game WAY to seriously. These are just a handful of reasons I rarely talk in any game chat anymore.

I’ve actually had no problems with kids and baby’s lol I do use party chat alot now that I got lots of friends on but when I’m by myself never a peep

People have learned from Halo 2, 3 Reach and 4, that if you communicate, you’re usually abused by some 14 year old goit who seems to think he’s in the -Yoink!-.

So people don’t talk anymore.

Sadly my mic is dead, have to buy a new one. Only can talk in party with W10s xbox feature
