I mean, I haven’t seen these many Topics about being banned in Halo 5: Guardians ever before. Has 343 done something recently to change how bans work and are received or are people just getting banned randomly?
No. Its just some people can’t admit that they are quitting. I have seen too many say " I quit once and got banned" When you look at there Service record and you see tons of DNF’s. So they feel that they have been wronged. All I can say is , enjoy your ban.

It does eventually get to a point where you quit once and you’re banned and people aren’t liking it. Also the ban jump times are huge. 45 minutes turns into 9 hours which then turns into 24 hours. I haven’t been dumb enough to try and go further myself which I guess means that the system is working.
The Hammer struck me tonight for the first time. I had to quit a match because the doorbell rang and then I got disconnected from the next one! I need food anyway, so I’ll go headshot my dinner instead.

i agree 110% that most of the time when people get banned its “i quit one game” nonsense. When the update happened at the end of January servers got messed up, I’ve had countless issues since then with Lag and it kicking me from the match (2 out of 5 games last night) and i have a lot of DNFs on my service record and i have quit only 3 times since the games release (regardless if im out numbered or out gunned) because i dont want to be banned
Lots of people never visit the forums until they get pissy enough to make a complaint thread. Being banned, for any reason, tends to make people mad.
I’ve noticed a lot of people recently leaving a game for whatever reason idk and others joining mid game, I’ve joined many war zone matches already in progress where someone left.
I have never quit a game ever but have lost connection to games a couple times never been banned. They should be able to tell if you quit or if it had server issues.
Quitters are mad they are getting bans so they come here to complain hoping to get the bans removed so they can quit more.
