Whats with all the useless kill boundaries?

Seriously 343i, im trying to forge MY map. Not yours, MINE. I dont need your pointless barriers everywhere when im trying to build a big map. Hell, you already made forge worlds 1/10 the size it was (the funny part is theres STILL screen lag).

Honestly, why are they there?

It seems to me that they want to utterly control the way we play and interact with Halo 4. That explains broken Matchmaking, dreadful playlists, linear and overscripted Campaign, gutted customization options, useless Theatre, features that don’t work, the restrictive UI, broken file share, and of course, the dreadful new Forge maps with kill barriers everywhere.

I was just thinking about this after I hit a kill boundary in my Flood match. It was a sot where literally someone as dumb as a rock could walk right into, yet they made it a kill zone. Places where hiding is viable for those with camo has been made inaccessible. Not places where it takes some skill and smarts to get up, but places where someone could just crouch in and hide.

Along with this, still absolutely baffled as how poorly 343i is handling the halo franchise as a whole. As genuine complaints and concerns pour into their laps, they gloat about THE ZOMG INFINITY CHALLENGE WIN A TRUCK contest.

P.S. The infinity challenge, yeah. Poor attempt at drawing in players.

Yes I agree that the kill boundaries are ridiculous. I really get sick of the soft kill area above Adrift whenever I jetpack. There’s nothing to land on, yet I get that stupid message there any time I go above jumping height.

And the Forge soft kills are insane. Even the hard kill bounds are way too close to legitimate play areas.

I made a big thread about this a while back.

The artificial restrictions on the maps are terrible. A monkey could figure out the following map design concept:

If you don’t want a player to go somewhere, add in real geometry to prevent it. Do not put LOLWERELAZY 10 second countdowns everywhere. Especially on Forge maps.

> If you don’t want a player to go somewhere, add in real geometry to prevent it. Do not put LOLWERELAZY 10 second countdowns everywhere. Especially on Forge maps.

I was squealing with happiness when the Ravine map loaded.

I was like LOLTHISMAPISAWESOME, then I flew up a few more feet and discovered a low ceiling. Then I tried to fly around the maps only to discover a ridiculous number of kill barriers. There are even numerous structures and formations in the map that players would have LOVED to use but are not accessible. Those little islands at the bottom of the ravine? The huge tower? The bridge above the grifball arena? Etc.

Even Impact. It had tons of potential, but a few things tugged at me. We would have loved the map 20x more if the rocks had caves of some sort or were even hollowed out. Also… you know that small circular bridge surrounding a crystal below Impact’s building? What’s with the friggin’ lamp they randomly placed on the walkway?

I hope Halo 5’s maps are much more like Forge World, if Halo 5 will even have any.

Double post, my bad.

Yea, that lamp is just ridiculous. Seriously !

Someone else said it best, with forge 343 was shooting fish in a barrel, and somehow still missed.
