What's with all the hate on specializations?

Why weren’t people complaining before when they announced the tactical and support upgrades? Do people not realize that these will just be extra upgrades that take take up a slot that could have been used for something like extra grenades or faster movement? Honestly the two things i just mentioned are more of a game changer than any of these specializations. Another complaint that makes zero sense is that they are catering to the casual crowd with these specializations, how can they be catering to the casual crowd if you need to become a level 50 + 10 more levels to even get the extra mod? I don’t know I just think these “purists” seem to be against halo more than any COD fanboy could ever be! 343i is a great company and they obviously care about the game and im pretty sure they’ve already found a way to balance it out and not have another reach. I guess the people here are probably to narrow minded to even realize this and will probably just repeat the same things over and over again on this thread too, oh well…

P.S. sorry if i’m not totally clear in this post I am not that great at explaining.

What hate? I don’t see any threads against them.

Your kidding right?

the same hate that people had for AA’s before the launch of Reach; that they will break balanced gameplay and stray too far from the core of halo. After the debacle that is Reach i would say the “haters” would be justified in their concerns.

I’ve been away for a few days, could you fill me in?

Take a look at the first few pages of the forums. I think you’ll get the picture.

I see a few 4 pages in.

But I have found more threads complaining about people complaining about specialisations.

Another one of these…
The searchbar could answer all your questions.

Hi,

You must be new to the internet. Fact of the matter is… No matter WHAT IT IS… People will find a reason to complain about it. If buying Halo 4 came with a free maid service for life and an attachable pleasure hole in the side of the console as well as a cupholder…

Someone would complain that there isn’t also a money dispenser.

Just how the internet works.

I, for one, am looking forward to Specializations. They actually give me a reason to keep playing the game once I get fairly high in level. Did I care about max rank in Reach? Nope. Why not? I don’t like playing “dress up” with my Spartan. New armor unlocks got old before I ever reached Brigidier. Especially once they started costing tons of credits.

With Specializations… I actually have some in-game content that won’t “unlock” unless I play to level 50 and then do the special levelling up of the customization. That, right there, is incentive. None of the Specializations even seem that GOOD, to be honest. Not even Stability. I’ve gotten so used to shooting WITHOUT being scoped in… That being dropped out of my scope once hit doesn’t keep me from firing or from hitting my mark. Perhaps the XP one would be useful… If we can use it and level it up before ever reaching level 50. I’d probably use that one pretty much constantly. Well, until I get access to level 50 and all the OTHER specializations.

I actually just wonder if our little playercard thing will show off what Specializations we’ve “completed” once we’ve completed them. That would be nice little content for them to add in once players reach level 50 and beyond. Can’t see the level, but you can see which specializations they mastered.

Then again… That might garner a lot of hate as well.

In any case, I love the idea. I just hope there are MORE specializations than they are showing us. Give us something like 20 or more specializations and I’ll be happy and be busy for a LONG time in Halo 4.

And honestly… I want to be busy and interested in a Halo game again. It’s been downhill since Halo 1, and I haven’t been this excited for a Halo game since Halo 2. If it disappoints like Halo 2… I likely won’t play it much online beyond achievements… But, if it’s pretty good… I will look forward to frequent updates and probably play this over Black Ops 2.
