What's with all the daily updates?

Everyday nearly, I sign onto reach and get prompted to download a (round about) 2mb update. What are these for? Are they patches/bridges or something to make Reach compatible with CEA? Anybody know?

GASP! What if the updates are for new armour like GRD! Oh… OH NO! Now I got them all started up…

weird. i’m not getting any updates so i have no idea!

Your Xbox 360 can only save a limited number of patches.

If you play several games which also had title updates, it will always download the latest TU (any game) again.

Plus if he Accidently Cleared System Cache it would remove updates from all of his games. Then have to Re-DL them

Every time he logs into Reach? Not likely.

A month or so ago I got about 3 or 4 updates for XBL in 2 days but it went away after that. IDK if this is the same issue. Are they Reach specific or XBL?

The same thing happens to me. Glad to know it’s not only me.

Everytime? And no other games played before? Sounds weird…

Probably a problem with your HDD, bro.

I downloaded the TU only once.

I haven’t had said issue.

Your hard drive is messed up.

Get a new one.

If GalaxySpider is right (and from my own experience, I think they are), the OP would have to redownload the Reach update after a certain number of other patched games have been played on their console. If OP’s on a shared Xbox, that could be very frequent.

Methinks OP is just trying to start another rumor thread about new armor. Sorry, no new armor.

I only play Reach, rarely dump my system cache, and haven’t had a single prompt for a download since I got the TU.

You either have a problem with your XBox, its storage device, or both that is causing your XBox to constantly download the same file, or most likely, you’re just making that up to try and stir the new armor pot again.

I’m not making armour speculations so don’t accuse me. This happens everyday (today included, my hard drive has not been tampered with and I have over 20gb of space left.

have you cleared your xbox’s cache recently?

Yarp. Still happens…

This is actually completely true. I’ve cleared my cache a number of times since the last 2 MB update and each time it requires me to re-download the update. Sooner or later it goes away.

I have the exact same issue as the OP but with another game (Red Faction: Guerrilla), and without any cache-clearing involved. I’m all but absolutely certain that GalaxySpider, above, is right on this.

Download the TU, clear system cache, then download it again. It should stop asking you to download it every time after that. Worked for me when I had that problem.

I’ll add on to your post Fox. This for those who want to clear system cache from a Xbox 360 console but don’t know how to do it.
