Ok this may be a silly question, but I know Bungie’s number has always been 7…but what’s with all the 8’s on the armor? Is it actually an 8 or is it just a symbol that REALLY looks like an 8? I keep up pretty well with the lore but not sure on this one – anyone know? You can see it on some helmets and shoulders mostly.
Now that I think about it, there is eights everywhere on the armors…
Because 343i can’t stand to make armour that only looks mediocre, they have to create something extremely ugly by putting 8 all over it.
Are they trying to say they’re a step above Bungie by making 8’s instead of 7’s? Lol.
I do believe it’s the infinity loop rather than an 8 becuase Spartans now branched off into the unsc infinity ? That’s my idea
I think that since all the matches are simulations being run on the ship “Infinity” and the symbol for infinity is a sideways 8.

The Infinity symbol signifies that that Spartans armor belongs to Infinity, all of the infinitely held armor (seeker, recruit, Athlon) all have that symbol.
