I just played in ragnorok and i noticed the spartan lazer less powerful or the veiculs have mor armour it took 3 spartan lazer shots to kill a mantis the 1st shot took its sheild down the 2nd shot put it on fire and the 3rd finally killed it… Then in the same game they got into a mantis again this time it took to shots 1 to take his sheild then the 2nd shot killed… What ever happened to the 1 shot lazer it just been a while since i played bigteam im a throwdown kind of guy
It might be a combination of only having a glancing shot and the driver having the Operator perk loaded.
The guy was probably using the Wheelman TP. That’s exactly why I hate perks.
The mantis has recharging shields, making it the most durable vehicle in the game. Until the shields are down the mantis itself won’t take much damage from a laser.
First shot takes down the shields.
Second shot kills if the shields are still down. If it takes the second shot at full shields, it will survive, but it will be on fire.
3rd shot kills no matter where the shields are at.
I made some modifications to it. Since the Spartan Laser is named after me, it is mine to modify.
Jk, jk! That’s not true (except for the naming. It really was named after me)! It really just depends on where you hit it. I can usually kill a Mantis with two shots, but they basically have to be dead on.
I have my teammates take out the Mantis shields, and everytime I laser it it kills it in 1 shot.
1 laser will take out shields-only.
1 laser will kill a Mantis at no-shield.
The laser MUST be a direct hit, and not swiping/glancing/barely hitting.

there is no perk that increases vehicle health
all wheelman does is reduce EMP time.

I believe Wheelman also increases the vehicle’s health recharge rate.

This.
To effectively destroy a Mantis with the Splaser, let it lose its shields through regular arms fire and then switch to the Splaser and you are able to destroy it with a single shot.
That’s what I have always been doing. You save Splaser ammo with that tactic as well.

It increases the amount of plasma grenades it takes to destroy it so I assume it also increases the amount of anything else it takes to destroy it. Still hate perks in Halo.
It will never be one shot on Mantis due to shields.
I think the problem is that you let the Mantis’ shields recharge after every shot. If you take the shields down it’s OHK. Should have picked them off with a DMR/LightRifle or coordinated with your team.
Has nothing to do with perks.

I really, really doubt that the buff is that big.

I thought wheelman increases defense against 'nades though?

it dosent
i’ve attempted to use wheelman to stop myself from getting bombarded with stickies multiple times,
it adds no extra resistance, two stickies will still take down my warthog.
