Yeah. I’ve definitely got more kills with the Skewer while no scoped. Using the scope on that thing is just wonky.
Lol I am all for using what you like!
I know that for some Xbox players the aim assist doesn’t seem to work. A friend of mine is really good at other halos and fps on his Xbox, but in halo Infinite he is really bad. He said it seems like its related to the aim assist not working on his end. When I switched it on on pc, I didn’t even need to aim with the right stick, it just tracked the player for me when using a gun like the needler.
Maybe he’s just looking for excuses, but I am curious if it has some inconsistencies.
Yeah there definitely seem to be some inconsistencies with the aim assist on controller. I think part of the problem may have something to do with the default settings of things like deadzones and acceleration.
The default deadzones, at least on Xbox, are set extremely large (almost as if Microsoft is worried about a class action lawsuit due to controller drift). You may want to have your friend play around with those settings and see if it helps.
Good thing Halo Infinite isn’t coming to Switch then
Actually even without stick drift, the game is just far too poorly optimized to where even NASA computers run Infinite at Low settings and still crash
There are some issues with Red Reticle aim assist on console, and PC controllers don’t have Red Reticle at all
The Halo Infinite sniper has waaay less bullet magnetism than it did in 5. You didn’t have to hit your shots in 5 because the gun would headshot for you even when the reticle is way off. A quick search on YouTube will prove this.
However, it’s VERY GOOD that this was fixed, since now it takes much more skill to land a shot. Is also near identical to the Halo 3 sniper in its current state.
It probably just feels bad because sniping is hard and you’re not used to that because of 5.
My friend who plays on PC says it’s better than it was during the first technical preview weekend but it sounds like it’s still got a ways to go.
I know a lot of people are frustrated with the constant crashing and then getting banned on top of that.
Maybe it’s the bullet magnetism, although I haven’t played Halo 5 in over a year. I’ve been primarily playing Halo 3 in MCC for the past year.
I was never great with the sniper but now I feel even worse. The weird thing is I am currently much better at using the shock rifle in situations where I would have previously used the sniper rifle. 🤷
The gun needs fixing.
Well sure
but what about it needs fixing?
There is a long bloom reset time if you are hip firing. I’m not sure about zoomed but I don’t think it applies there
It works like the Halo 3 sniper, you need to anticipate where the enemy will be. The bullet has little or no magnetism. I think that the snipers were provided as a kind of anti-vehicle weapons.
When you say Halo 3 sniper, is that the same as the MCC Halo 3 sniper?
Because that’s what I’ve been playing for the past year and it feels different to me.
It works like the Halo 3 sniper, yes, but it’s not the same because of the bullet magnetism of Infinite. You need to anticipate where the enemy will be, but with a shorter range. Something similar happens with the stalker rifle.
