I recently played through the Master Chief Saga and when I finished it, I wanted to go see my score at the end. I didn’t die very many times since it was normal, and I completed missions pretty quickly. I did one game’s worth of missions each day for 4 days. So imagine my surprise when I check my score on the leaderboards and it says: Score 0, Kills 0, Deaths 0, Penalties 0, and a time of 166 hours**?!** There aren’t even 166 hours in a 4 day period… Even my ODST SLASO playlist, which I did over a longer period, shows a time of 6 hours.
Also, I’ve been wondering if missions restarts negatively impact score, but I could find zero evidence online suggesting that it does. I restarted some missions in order to knock out some par scores, but I saw no indication anywhere that it impacts score. I know restarting a checkpoint or dying does, but my understanding of playlist scoring is that it is the sum of the scores of each level. However, there were times when I saw my cumulative score actually get reduced by the exact same amount of points that I earned in a mission. This happened two missions in a row. What the -Yoink- is up with that?! Additionally, every time I logged back in, it seems my cumulative score was reset to 0. Do you have to beat the playlist in one sitting…? That seems kind of ludicrous, especially for LASO playlists, or something very long like the Master Chief Saga.
Anyways, there is clearly something very broken with the playlist scoring. I have never noticed anything like this for normal missions. I would love it if this were fixed. Thanks.
