Why is the enemy a.i. like super super soldiers from hell and your squadmates are the most incompetent morons? Literally have been left in the down state more than not, and they can’t kill for crap. Why? Lol, it’s aggravating as hell. Enemy snipers have perfect accuracy and 1 shot too…that’s cool.
The campaign teammate AI is a huge let down. The campaign in general really. I was so pumped initially when I heard the guy who did Republic Commando was in charge of squad AI. Even that 11 year old game had better teammate AI than H5…
Give me ODST’s and Marines any day of the week. Seriously though, the ai is pretty terrible across the board. All talk in gaming over better hardware and graphics but no one really wants to talk about ai hasn’t advanced much. We still use the age old more enemies, health and damage -Yoink-.
I think the huge problem is that they are kinda like blank slates. What I mean is they respond better when you give them commands, but just running around they are really stupid. So for Halo 6 they should for sure give us a bit more option to command our allies.
I remember Bungie talking about friendly AI balancing in Reach, talking about the pitfalls of making the friendly AI too smart vs dumb and how that impacts player’s experience, but I agree that the friendly AI has been dumbed down to the point of uselessness in Halo 5.

Why? The Squad AI in Republic Commando was horrible. They were constantly standing right next to enemies but not seeing them, getting shot withoug even flinching. Never reviving the player when ordered, never going where you tell them to, in generally just derping around the battlefield.
I actually knew how the H5G AI would end up as soon as I heard they hired Tim Longo…
I use the AI for decoys. I send them off somewhere to get the enemies attention while I go in for the slaughter. All they do is get in the way.
I’m on Swords of Sanghelios and they’re god awful. Not engaging jackal snipers, hunters, etc. Also charging blindly into death and off cliffs.
with the Mantises and Wraith they’re good, but otherwise trash lol.
