It works but the hud thinks I’m using a controller so everytime I move the mouse it changes the keybinds to the hud abilities from xbox controls to keyboard binds. specifically the ability/grenade buttons/keys. As far as I know theres no fix for this, its not a huge deal. But, it gets messy and throws me off when any kind of extra flinch makes me think the radars blowing up and theres something around me shooting at me. ect. Really, nothing that can be done about it. But, maybe toggling off the keybinds to the hud? As, most people do with the subtitles… ect. Just unnecessary stuff for anyone whose played the game… twice. lol
It sounds like it’s seamless and there’s no delay when you switch between them. Is this right? Can you use an analog “controller” input the same time as a keyboard input?
I don’t have a solution but I’d like to hear about how well it has worked with you. In Halo: MCC there used to be a big one second delay when you switched methods and now it locks you to one type of input device at the start of the match. So I care about knowing how it works in Infinite right now.
Yeh, I was really happy about it the first day of the infinite beta because I wasn’t sure if my 250 dollar analog keyboard was going to work. AND IT DOES. AND ITS REALLY COOL! And, yes. It made my day thats for sure, but all that excitedment it took me a few days for it to even kick in… That now instead of literally disabling one or the other with a 1-3 second delay between the two forms of input. They have seemed to just MAKE SURE to bother the HUD with the keybinds flaring inbetween bumpers when you move with controller and Q/C when you move the mouse. lol. I figure they just dont want you to use them both. But have given us the ability to completely disable the hud incase we want to hold the controller at the screen like duckhunter or something. but no… they havnt given us the ability to toggle the keybinds for the abilities/grenades off or on. And theyve done a good job at that because on keyboard theyve made it so there are multiple ways to select or switch the nades so its kinda locked back and forth. and just basically annoying to see. So, I use it but its annoying. I really like the idea tho because with an analog keyboard you really get to see how awesome the clutch button on the mouse can be. hahaha with an alien pistol its fun to charge. itself… lol. with the keyboard ambient light the whole thing lights up like your …charging the alien pistol. ect.
A question! In rank there’s a solo queue where you can only join according to the input you are currently using. Have you tried joining a match as controller detected then play with mouse and kb in that very match? I wanna be a devil and do a little experiment to see if they are godlike with controllers as people claim.
no. i dont want to play ranked 2v2 atm. so ive not tried. but im sure itll lock me out of being able to use the mouse if i choose controller and the keyboard if i choose mouse/keyboard. steam literally picks up asdw as a joystick. and the buttons themselves have a depth sensor and 3 actuation points for walk fast walk or sprint. i duno if its as accurate as an actual joystick with deadzones but ive not fiddled with it yet. because i think an actual joystick has infinite number of points but with keys pressing two at once to move in that specific type of direction probably takes up too much math to compute lol. but it works perfectly for when you want to strafe fight. which is why i found it so important to have that feature especially in a hip shooter like halo.
That’s a funny combo you have there. I also have a analog keyboard Tartarus Pro but I play with the thumb rather than the wasd.
Yeah, it sounds reasonable that it should lock on to your chosen input.
Does that thing do buttons too? I didnt know that thing was full analog I thought it just had a joystick. The huntsman v2 is gnarly cuz you can use all the other keys so it really just gives access to walk in games like halo where hipfire firefight duelling is like 85% of 1v1s.
I played with someone who had a bug where it only showed him PC keybinds even though he was using a controller. I don’t know how to reproduce it though. I’d assume it involved using the mouse and keyboard until he started a match, but that’s just speculation on my part.
Only the Tartarus Pro is analog like huntsman, except the thumb stick, it is just straight WASD buttons (or arrow keys). But I like it that way, allowing just one finger for movement, you free your other fingers to allow more actions at once than using three busy fingers for WASD.
i checked it out before i spent all that on the huntsman but i wanted that shift space feel like a normal keyboard.
tbh, that was prolly me. lol jk. i bet you could delete it from the registry or file of the game but it prolly wouldnt boot. i duno. was submitting a ticket for a patch but they ignored.
