dear 343 industries
Bungie had its problems with Halo Reach on line, but since 343 has taken over networking, online play has declined immensely.( we’re talking about a skydive from the stratosphere) Never thought " bad spawns" “lag switchers” and all around game glitches, could get worst after bungie left, but you have proved me dead freakin wrong.A lot of Halo gamers I’m talking to, reiterate my feelings that halo 4 online will suck just as bad as Reach does presently. (ie…enemies spawning directly behind you, players alarab to lag switch and cheat without consequences, and such.) I realize that there will be glitches along with other things that will need “fixing” when halo 4 first comes out, but how long have you had the halo reach site and screwed it up worst in bungie ever could.(who would thunk that) When 343 took over gamers all over the world we’re excited that an elite team was going to show the other guys how is supposed to be done. Best way to describe the job 343 has done so far in meeting gamers expectations is to say “epic fail”. Come on guys november is not that far away. Thanks for allowing me to vent.
good luck to you and Halo nation,
RJ Way
(any other halo heads feel the same…please reply)
It sounds like you had a bad game or two and are venting. I’m genuinely sorry about that.
But you can’t see the future. I believe Halo 4 is gonna be great because of how skilled and dedicated 343i is. Let’s just calm down and take it easy with these predictions
First post is a criticism, go figure. Before 343i took over, I had the same problems of enemy players spawning behind me, sometimes right in front of me, it happens. Why don’t you just take that stick out, and calm down.
Lag switch? What is this, 2007?

Nothing has changed connection wise.
-
Playing all the games I’ve played in Reach I have never encountered someone using a lag switch aka standbying. There are literally no glitches in Reach either.
-
There isn’t anyone thinking 343 has “epically failed” besides you.
Some people are just like that. One thing I know is that he needs to calm down.
343 have done more for us with Reach then bungie ever did. Bad spawning and lag switchers haven’t got worse since 343 have taken over and if they somehow have it would be because they’re spending their time wisely; working on Halo 4.
343 has done SOO much for halo reach they were working on the TU while bungie was packing there bags remember people don’t only play halo there are dedicated halo fans but some people just play the newest game not just COD but other game not everybody is tied to one single game I guarantee you that the halo population will soar with halo 4s release
Forget Reach let them work on H4 .
And lets all Believe the best we cant.

Yes, 343 has done so much, lets review shall we:
Removing Armour abilities that were key to the gameplay of reach.
Nerfing armour lock to allow grenade spam, the very thing it was designed to prevent.
Removing bloom to allow spamming trigger kills.
Removing many maps from matchmaking playlists.
Removing dynamic spawning and putting in static spawning to allow spawnkilling.
Replacing power weapons/vehicles with weaker versions to try and balance there changes.
Adding terrible gametypes to once great playlists (Hotshot).
Altering gameplay elements to try and fix one problem and resulting in creating yet another.
Anything you guys want to add?? I think I’ve summed up all of 343’s updates.
Am I the only one who feels that there should be a 24-hour delay between joining this forum and being allowed to post on it?

> Removing Armour abilities that were key to the gameplay of reach.
Armor Abilities are still quite common in Matchmaking.
> Nerfing armour lock to allow grenade spam, the very thing it was designed to prevent.
The insane advantage that Armor Lock afforded to its user far outweighed the problems involved in grenade spam. Moreover, if Armor Lock’s purpose was to prevent grenade spam, then it wouldn’t have frosting – which makes timed grenades the best way to kill an exiting Locker, such that Armor Lock promotes grenade spam – and it wouldn’t have been given an EMP effect, anti-vehicular power, plasma and rocket ricochet, melee stun, or a third-person-view with instant turning upon exiting – none of which do a thing to combat grenade spam.
If Bungie had actually cared about removing grenade spam, then they could’ve just reduced grenade damage pre-release. They put a mini-nuke in the game and handed everyone a pair off-spawn; they should’ve expected said mini-nukes to be used constantly.
> Removing bloom to allow spamming trigger kills.
85% bloom makes pacing more viable.
> Altering gameplay elements to try and fix one problem and resulting in creating yet another.
You are correct in saying that the TU caused almost as many balance issues as it solved. This is why both TU and Vanilla will remain accessible in Matchmaking.
Fine, I hope I end up in a match with you with out the TU so I can walk right up to you, go invincible for 7-10 seconds. EMP your shields as you try to disable my armor lock by throwing grenades at me, aim somewhere near your head with the bloomed DMR then get a headshot. Then I’ll get a rocket launcher where there should be a grenade launcher. Then blowing you up three times in a row on treasury with it. AND I DON’T WAANA HEAR THAT MAP WAS GOOD. IT SUCKED.
Uh…Bungie had all those things, 343 recently took over Reahc online, and are actualyl fixing what bungie did.
Reach was a failure from the start. You can’t blame 343 for a decrease in online play.

Armour abilities are completely useless and were an unnecessary addition to the Haloformula.
Armour lock was PRIMARILY designed to prevent being splattered. Not to prevent someone getting a grenade/sticky kill just by simply tapping a button.
Bloom wasn’t in Halo 1,2,3,ODST, thus your argument there is utterly null and void.
Many players weren’t happy with the maps that were removed (Forge-world maps). They just plain sucked.
I haven’t noticed a change in the spawn system?
Unhappy you can’t get your Rocket Launcher like you used to?
“Altering gameplay”…Nothing needs to be said there except for how stupid that is to say.
I’m going to be blunt. You have obviously not played many Halo games, especially with your argument regarding Bloom. Every Halo game has recoil, Reach decided to add bloom cross-hairs to add “realism”. But the problem is, it messed with people’s aiming, as random deviation would try and follow that reticle, rather than staying on point.
In some ways, 343 is doing better than bungie.
Listening more community feedback and what sounds like more creativity and desire to please fans with Halo 4.
But Hey, we’ll see in time, right?

+1

really, so of all the armour abilities (jetpack, sprint, armour lock, invisiblity, evade, bubble shield, hologram), why is it that 99% of all playlists only have sprint, and evade in them now? you are wrong.

Insane advantage? are you really that bad at reach that you cannot hit a stationary target? Armour lock is always an easy kill. Armour lock promotes teamwork, and the better team wins. The EMP blast is to stop beatdown camping. and just because grenades are an easy way to kill an armour locker while exiting, armour lock is good to stop grenade spam when you are in a room and the enemy team sends about 6 grenades in you armour lock and deny them a cheap kill. I’m guessing this is why you hate AL? Yes AL is also good at preventing splatter kills, but most vehicles have weapons too so it’s not invincible.

There was nothing wrong with 100% bloom, hell if it didn’t have a reticule i bet no one would have even noticed let alone complained, and i’m more talking about the zero bloom btw.

I don’t really see how that makes it better, but at least you see one of my points.
