Has any one wondered what the strange forerunner bird thing is?
OF COURSE YOU HAVE!!!
personally I think that it is an AI that can revive cortana, what do you think?
this post was based on the first E3 trailer, go check it out!
People think it’s a Forerunner War Sphinx.
No its most likely a forerunner war sphinx
Bit late to the party, mate…
Anyway, I doubt that it’s a Deus Ex Machina for Cortana. 343 are much better storytellers than that. Likewise, I doubt it’s a War Sphynx. They’re described in the novels, and look nothing like that.

Their way too big and look completely different!
No idea what it is. I’m confident that it’s not a War Sphinx or a Seeker though. I would assume it’s a War machine that is either under Medicant Bias’s control or his guardian. Like Shurifire said, you’re a bit late, more than a year actually. Also, it was more of a concept trailer than a ‘this will be in the game’ trailer
I’d say Mendicant Bias
Mendicant Bias
mendicant bias, it can’t be a war sphinx

I know but I only just started halo waypoint so I just got the chance to ask the question I saw the trailer when it came out
It could be some sort of War Sphinx, because the ones described in the novels are outdated and antiquated by about 100,000 years. The Forerunners could have made a new thing. Mendicant Bias? Yeah, why not.
Also, forgive me if this was defined elsewhere, but could this thing have something in relation to the name, Halo 5: Guardians?
All of you are wrong, it’s Moltres.
It is either a War Sphinx (which are described as having faces in Forerunner Trilogy) or a Seeker (a successor to the War Sphinx). It is not Mendicant Bias. Why give your ultimate enemy such a powerful weapon if you are the Forerunners?
I think it’s either a Seeker, a Guardian, or a new piece of tech. Why would it be Mendicant Bias? He’s just an A.I., so I assumed he had a similar housing to 343 Guilty Spark. I’m sure he can control other machines, but it’s not like the machine becomes him. If Cortana was flying a Lich, would you call the whole thing Cortana? No.

What, that’s pikachu. Blind people these days…
I can conclude it’s the Jesus didact of birds that specifically intends to shove its beak up our weaner holes.
Please don’t ban me for this I’m not offending your game

Weaner holes? You may want to get that checked…
OT: It’s too big to be a War Sphinx and the Seeker doesn’t have a ‘face’. I’m fairly certain the Seeker is not nearly that large either.
As mentioned previously, it’s too large to be a War Sphinx.
Could be some kind of newer/larger form of a Seeker.
It’s not Mendicant Bias, I can tell you that. Mendicant, part of him, was buried in a sarcophagus under the desert, not in a war machine.
However, I do think that this machine is guarding Mendicant’s tomb.
