What's this br spread people are talking about

To be honest with you guys, i never knew there was something called br spread. Is that just like bloom, or hip fire, idk, can someone tell me.

When you spam your Battle Rifle in Halo 3, you will see that not all the bullets hit within the same spot on the reticle. Some bullets would stray off and when you’re in a battle this could mean that they would miss completely.

This added a random factor to the most used weapon in the game and kinda hurt Halo 3’s gameplay bad in my opinion, but I still find it a more fun game to play than Reach =/.

It’s why the DMR is a better weapon.

In theory yes, in the actual game, no way.

The DMR’s bloom is more random than any spread in H3. If they took bloom off the DMR and weakened it to balance, yes it would probably be the best weapon.

The DMR is worse, what game have you been playing.

It’s not supposed to be the best weapon. That’s what the problem was with the BR, it was a really good weapon, rarely did I see anyone drop it for anything else besides a power weapon.

Exactly, but in Reach DMR isn’t the almighty weapon. Like BR was in Halo 3.

Erm, no. If you used it right, a DMR does more damage/shot then the BR, and always hits its target as long as you have your bloom reset.

BR spread is simply the projectile spread of each individual projectile of the Battle Rifle. Each pull of the trigger with the BR fires three projectiles, the faster you fire the weapon the larger the projectiles spread apart. Bungie defined a set limit for the projectile spread of each of the individual weapons, or else, if the projectile spread out too far the faster you fired any of the weapons, it would be useless. Each weapon in any of the Halo games, even Halo CE, has projectile spread.

The targeting bloom with the Reach weapons is simply a visual indicator of the projectile spread displayed on the targeting reticle.
