I’ve been playing this game for over 7 years (including the beta), I’ve seen my share of good maps and some pretty bad ones at that. I want to know your worst map based on your experiences and tell me why.
For me here are some of the worst in my opinion that I’ve played of all time.
Uncaged- The map is terrible when picked with just ARs. Only one needle rifle and dmr on the map to pick up as a precision weapon to counter the people that pick jetpack and sit on top of the wall near blue spawn and for the people that sit on top cage. This map caters too much for people that use jet pack. - Precipice- Most of you have probably only seen this map under 100 times (if you’ve played as long as me) and for good reason. Asymmetrical map with power weapons heavily biased towards red team. Shotgun on the right of red spawn, sniper to the left. What do blue get? A grenade launcher on the bridge which you get by taking the next two rights when you climb up the ramp. Granted the grenade launcher is a great weapon but it can be overpowered by the two that red get so easily. In terms of the map; it feels like the map has more features in favour of red team. Campable lift, easier to control corridors and height elevation. - Renova- Not the worst but the corridors are ridiculously narrow. Making this place a grenade fest almost as much as countdown. At least this map is symmetrical though. - Eden Minor- Only one power weapon on the map. A sniper on red side. Instantly gives red team the upper hand. Like Precipice, red team have the best in terms of position. What are blue supposed to do? Sit on grass ramp and cherry pick? They’ll line up like ducks and get shot while up there. - Chateau- Another rare map that comes up. Only two power weapons that comes up. Rockets in bottom mid and snipers on each end (Not bad about the snipers). The map feels too cramped and divided. You either have blue initial, red initial or the chateau itself. Not really enough cover in any of the sections. If you find yourself against an enemy in the same room as you, then you can only leave that room or go down/ up a floor to take cover. - Asphalt- Okay there are loads of power weapons and vehicles on here but the vehicles barely have any room to move around in and can get pounced on too easily, hence why the majority of the time I don’t even bother trying to get in one.Well that in my opinion is some of the worst maps in this game in my opinion. Granted I have not really played grifball or mlg that much, so there’s bound to be some that I may have missed because of my preferances of playlist. Also the dlc maps on this are pretty good for the most part. Only one I have a bit of a problem with is Solitary (Prisoner Halo: CE) but the map at least is symemetrical and has plenty of cover.
I’m curious to know what your worst ones are and why?
Seeing as I mostly play SWAT pretty much exclusively, the map I like the least is Asylum. For me, it just seems rather small as a SWAT map. I mean, at the start of the match, there is a high chance you will be instantly head-shotted right at the beginning because there is a clear shot between the two team spawns. And being as small as the map is, it is really easy to be spawn locked. I have had several instances where the enemy team positioned themselves around the map forcing my team to spawn in certain locations that would almost always result in us being instantly spawn-killed for half the match.
Another one that isn’t my favorite, but I have gotten a little use to it is, I think it is called Midship. It’s basically a two story cylinder. In pretty much every match I play, there are at least 1 or 2 people who just do nothing but bunny hop the entire match around the upper floor. This is also another small map that is easy to be spawn locked in. I have had matches where my entire team left two minutes into the match because the other team spawn locked us. They positioned 2-3 players around the upper floor, forcing us to spawn on the bottom floor in positions that were almost always down the sights of the enemy’s rifle. The remaining people would just rabbit hop around the map constantly making sure that even if you managed to get out of the line of sight from the people camping on the upper floors, or manage to get on the second floor…there is someone that is damn near impossible to headshot while they have no issues nailing you time after time after time.
Now, people are probably going to be like “Eh, get good.” or some crap like that…but this is just my honest opinion. Seeing as I mostly play SWAT, I prefer maps that can allow close or long range combat with plenty of cover between that can be exploited easily.
I like nearly all the maps and that is one of my favorite parts of asphalt is that the CQC balances out the vehicles so the wraith driver has to keep his head on a swivel, I had my first Sunday Driver on that map too, the reveanant, ghost and rocket hog are all pretty useful on that map.

It’s not as bad as the cage though btw hmu on reach man I have regular custom games it would be nice to have you to join (we play a variety of gametypes team and FFA ) gt is OddBall Spartan I was called smash9006
For Infection and Swat, Boardwalk the worst map. If a player or players takes the high ground, you really have to swarm them to kill them and it is one of those few maps where people tend to know where you are at no matter what you do.
For Firefight, Unearthed is the worst map. Playing it solo is fine, as I hang out in the room where you spawn with the Arcadefight Operator Loadout due to it being the only literal place on the map where you have cover and are not out in the open and under constant fire. Playing with friends and other people though, it becomes a real headache, as your defensive maneuvers tends to upset people and they state that it is your fault that they died multiple times because the spawning room was ‘full of enemies’ , ‘causing them damage and to die’ upon rushing out of the room from enemies outside. Outside = No Cover, and yet somehow that is my fault?

I’ve never had many issues with SWAT on Boardwalk. 90% of the time, I spawn on the bottom end of the map and I love picking off players who think they are being sneaking hiding in the edges of the map and in the trees. Though, if only my team would actually communicate and not run out into the open like idiots.
