What's the story behind your service tag?

01MA for “1 Man Army” I hate asking others for help, I’m a loner irl, and prefer doing matches where there is only one winner like Infection and Free-for-All.

Mines is OHE1, named after a character from a machinima I made. However Halo 5 doesn’t allow tags under 4 letters

BANE
Because I’m a big guy for you and I’m crashing this game with no survivors. The fire rises.

ARES. I am the God of War boys!!! Haha. Nah, just a big fan of mythology and needed a cool and easy to remember 4 letter name.

My current one is -Yoink!-, because I’m the exact opposite.

Im thinking of changing it to DUCK, because of my Gamertag

That was a huge cop-out. There isn’t even any part of the Autumn that has the other hull cut away like that. BS game cannon IMO.

My service tag: RTRX is just an extension of my gamertag, which was unofficially “Hunter” on my mate’s original Xbox when I played Halo at his place (RIP split-screen, it literally sold the franchise for me) and I took particular liking to the hunters in CE.

A little later, I decided that “Hunter” was a bit of a generic handle, so I started using “Retrohunter” as it Incorporated my love of Halo’s enemies and probably my all-time favorite developer - Retro Studios - which made a pair of games that are very close to my heart; Metroid Prime and Metroid Prime: Echoes.

Then it came time for me to buy an Xbox 360 (still a better console in relative terms IMO) and I was able to go online for the first time with Halo 3.

With my gamertag, I wanted to achieve two goals:
1 - Have an original name with a futuristic sound (because I was super cool like that lol).
2 - Avoid using numbers or symbols to avoid looking like a “generic” user.

And thus I settled for “ReteroX”.
The capitalization of either end of the name was a decision to make it look more like a title than just a name, just so that you know.

At the same time that I created my Xbox Live account, my friend (same guy who got me into Halo) was looking for an original gamertag and so I came up with “ZantheroX” for him (similar styling because we are best bros) and we haven’t looked back since.

I get called “Retro” or “Retro-X” a lot online which is actually not what I went for but the capitalization of both ends of my gamertag naturally causes confusion (also, people seem to forget how syllables work).

Holy food-nipple, I managed to turn that into a wall…

just foxx or foxy
