I know there are people out there that were hype for the MCC and they love it still but I personally think it’s not all that great. I would only want to focus on one game only anyways and have better graphics. They only remastered Halo 2 Anniversary, the rest are normal and you would pay all that money for games that have bad graphics, probably laggy, and no one to play online with. I do however know why some people like it, they either played from the start and want to revisit the classics on a new console. Some want to know how the story started(most). Please state how you feel on this.
I like MCC because I can play CE,2,3 and 4 on Xbox one, they are really good in local custom games splits screen, all those games in one disc is really good.
Action sack is really fun to play with friends in splits screen at night, you won’t get bored to one game.

You nailed it on the head in regards to the classics being ported to the new console. That was extremely exciting for someone like myself who’s been playing since CE. Having them all in one place is fantastic! Realizing you can jump in any mission at any moment to relive the bungie days is what sold me on it.

But wouldn’t you only want to focus on Halo 5 and become good on that so you can have more unlocks and become the best at that game instead of being normal on all of them.

All young players like myself who started from halo 3 only see the old ones as slow and bad graphics but the story is the only reason I would buy it.

Wait… Halo 5… you mean one of the easiest Halo games to date? Anyone can snipe or headshot in Halo 5 and you don’t even need to aim for the head where as the older games take a lot more to master. Try sniping in Halo 5 and then try sniping in Halo 3, you’ll see the difficulty spike significantly in Halo 3.
The older Halo games also have many more and better game types than H5 that are both competitive and social depending on the playlist. Just because you believe you can only be “okay” at multiple Halo games doesn’t make it true. I’d consider myself pretty skilled at Halo 1, 2 and 3 and like them all though I prefer Halo 1 and 2.

No.
I have absolutely no interest in playing Halo 5 thanks to sprinting and all of the unnecessary abilities being thrown into the game. Classic Halo is the game for me. Classic Halo has always been the game for me. If 343 wants to make a new Halo game that plays like the classics, then I will jump aboard that hype train. But, if they continue shoving out the ability-riddled stuff they’ve been putting out, then no.
That’s not to say that a game packed full of abilities and sped up gameplay is inherently bad. But, a game like that is not a Halo game. If I’m going to play a game with the “Halo” title on it, I want to be treated to a “Halo” experience. Halo 5 does not offer that.

Many people play the Halo games for reasons other than being competitive in multiplayer. Campaign mode in many of the games has great replayability, and it’s a nice change of pace from fighting other players.
By the logic put forth in your comment here, there shouldn’t be any reason to watch the previous Star Wars movies since new ones are being made, and they are old. I hope that I have misinterpreted your post, though.
I like the MCC because, like others here, I can play all five Halo games (four main titles and one spin-off) without having to change discs. in fact, I own a digital copy, so there really is no disc involved. I just keep my Halo 5 disc in my console so then all of the main games are available from the dashboard. I primarily enjoy playing campaign, though, but have been playing multiplayer in H5 since I’m in a Spartan Company and actually have people to play with. H5’s story isn’t that great, anyway.

Plenty of people play it online, never have any issues finding matches other than party issues (double screen, people not searching) that happen in MCC.
-
Rarely see lag as well, no more than any other Xbox one game. Seen more or the same amount of lag in Dark souls 3 PvP and Star Wars Battlefront.

Good graphics alone do NOT make a great game. I can go back anytime and play dozens of NES, SNES, PS1, N64, Xbox, Xbox 360, and countless other system’s games because they are awesome games. Went back and played FF7 on PS1 recently and it’s an amazing game, even though by today’s standards the graphics are horrible. Heck, I would play any RBI Baseball title on the NES because they are more fun than any modern baseball game.
In the end, I bought the MCC mainly to play Halo CE online because I love the multiplayer in it more than any other Halo title…“Bad” Graphics and all.

I second this sentiment. Heck, even Reach might be a fun “alternate universe game” but I don’t find it to be a classic Halo experience though Reach is more of a Halo experience than 4 or 5 are. I’ll mainly stick to Halo 1 through 3 thank you.

The graphics are dated yes but that doesn’t mean it’s a bad game. In fact I prefer them because the graphics are more gritty and realistic compared to 5’s over used brightness and bloom on overload. Heck the Spartans look like power rangers. If graphics are a must I hate to break it to you but you should buy a gaming PC instead since Halo 5’s graphics are dated as well.
I agree that the MCC is horrible, not for the reasons you listed though.
graphics- Graphics are nice, but an Xbox One is a waste of money if you actually care about that.
lag- Pretty much every game on the Xbox One lacks dedicated servers, so that’s not really an issue with the games themselves. Well, at least for every game that doesn’t have Halo 3 netcode.
no one to play online with- I would blame that more on the lack of marketing, poor Xbox One sales, and the MCC being completely unplayable for 3-4+ months.
> But wouldn’t you only want to focus on Halo 5 and become good on that so you can have more unlocks and become the best at that game instead of being normal on all of them.
Being good at Halo 5 isn’t the same as being good at the first three. While Halo 5 might have a bigger map design to accommodate sprint and thruster packs, it certainly doesn’t have the depth of player improvement that the first three have. This right here is a good example of everything wrong with 343i Halo MP https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UL1_ht1EdAU .
> All young players like myself who started from halo 3 only see the old ones as slow
Halo 3 actually has the slowest base movement speed of all the Halo games, which makes this criticism odd.
Spartan, I know how you feel. Please, if you haven’t check my thread for MCC. We as a community are going to change that. Lets make it official!
