I really don’t understand the Regicide gametype. It seems extremely broken. The last game I played I won with 27 kills, and the person coming second had 15 kills. Yet, he was only 20 points behind me when I won. I was King for 4:30 out of a 5 minute game.
Unless I’m missing something, it seems that Regicide seems to want to keep everyone at the same score, regardless of how well you’re doing, and choose the winner by the last couple of kills.
Regicide is a points based game not kill based. So yes you may have had 27 kills but the person with only 15 must have killed the “King” with a high points bank. The longer you’re King the higher your bounty is and if someone kills you they get a lot more points than just a standard kill.

Which is exactly why it’s stupid. Because when my bounty gets to +30 for being the best, then every time the person in second kills me, his kill is worth 3x as much as me killing him.
So when I’m winning for the entire game, I can’t get any more than 10 points per kill, where as if you’re coming second the whole game, you get 30 points when you kill me since the bounty increases. Effectively, I have to kill 3x as many people as anyone else to maintain the place at the top, which is ridiculous.
Mine was the opposite. I was the King for so long, had 27 kills and I lost by 5 points… I died 13 times and the guy who won was 14/15 I’m not going to play if I can go complete beast mode and lose to 2nd place while he sucked all game.

That’s the exact problem I’m talking about. When I had 27 kills I should have won by a huge margin, but instead it was basically me just happening to get the last kill before he did.
It all comes down to who gets the last kill in the game, since the scoring system ensures that everyone’s score remains even no matter how well you’re doing.

But we want to. It’s the only FFA game-mode, until 343i TU’s some new playlists like SWAT, Snipers, Rumble Pit Pro, etc.

It’s the only FFA gametype. When I’m waiting for my friends to come online and I just want to absolutely demolish people, I want to play FFA. But Regicide doesn’t reward skill.
In the end the game is won by the last person to collect the kings bounty, and not by the person who spent the most time as king. Quite irrational.
343i could have had a great game if they didn’t make it so noob friendly…
Regicide is so stupid. I just had 29 kills… was king the ENTIRE game. Second place killed me 5 times and wins the game at the end without ever even being king. He only had 17 kills to my 29 lol.
God I am so sick of game developers helping noobs win games they don’t deserve.
I have to agree. I played it once, never again. This game type never made sense to me. Well, hopefully they’ll have FFA slayer soon =]
I, too, like to play Rumble Pit when none of my friends are online. Oh and Doubles, can’t wait for doubles. But honestly, for Team Doubles, they need to add some smaller forge-made maps into the game.
Regicide is so amazing you can be a lil sneak and wait until the last second and grab the win, playing with 5 other friends in a full lobby is the most fun thing ever, most fun i’ve had in a Halo game since Halo 3 infection mazes
> You’ve got to make every one feel equal. If someones’s better their feelings might get hurt. But seriously, I have heard that it’s kind of a BS game.
The sad thing is, even though you were joking, game devs are actually making games with that in mind these days. People cant deal with getting crushed like they used to.
It’s fine and way better than original FFA. It definitely spices up the ante. But again its simple…AVOID the second place player if in the lead or kill him. I had a few matches where the second place player gunned it for me and I simply defended. I’m sure once you get higher “ranked” players who play properly it will be different.
