I mean, clearly he wants a level progression and not an actual ranking.
Kda is how you preformed. Not why you won. Your entire team can go positive and miss one flag cap and the game is over.
Sure, but if you’re not killing anyone and constantly going negative it also means you’re unable to push the flag and they just 5 cap you. It goes both ways. You should be equally good at doing objectives and maintaining a positive KDA. You’re stuck in this “one or the other” mind set and its a terrible mindset to have. The only real exception is oddball, but that gamemode is trash and shouldn’t be in ranked so we don’t talk about oddball.
I went 20 negative before in both flag and oddball and still won the game because I was making goated plays.
Kda doesn’t matter unless it’s slayer
Sounds like you got carried to me.
If I got all 5 flag caps AND I have almost 2 mins on the ball how was I carried?
This goes back to my same argument. Are you telling me not to play objective? Because I can easily do so and go positive and the games will go to time/end in stalemates.
Played plenty of CTF games where teammates cap the flag or hold the ball the longest and still stayed positive in the KDA.
I’m telling you to do both. You can’t focus on one and ignore the other. It sounds to me like you yolo into the flag base alone quite frequently and are bailed out by better teammates who are killing the players chasing you, which is probably very accurate given your past statements of how you think you should be able to lone wolf the game in a team environment.

Because you don’t need to die to get a cap. Occasionally you have to sacrifice yourself for the play, but going -20 is a game riddled with misplays. Staying alive is often one of the most valuable things you can do in Halo.
Scoring a flag doesn’t mean you did well in 99.99% of situations, it is the team doing well to facilitate it. Same with Oddball. Outside of a very basic skill of knowing when to rotate and when to play the ball, it takes more skill to slay that it does to do the objective portion of things.
A good player will know when to do the objective and when to do the slaying. Lots of players tunnel vision on doing one or the other, not a mixture of both at the appropriate time.
Especially in oddball slaying skills is essential because you’re literally thrown into a 3v4 situation with the ball carrier being pre-occupied.
So that brings me back to why do we have individual ranks then if it’s based on the teams exsistince?
You guys aren’t understanding that this ranking system makes no sense. It doesn’t account for individual skill nor does it count for your teams skill. If it accounted for your individual skill then a loss wouldn’t de rank you. If it accounted for your teams skill then you wouldn’t have a individual rank.
It needs to be one or the other. Not both
Never said slaying skills wasn’t important. I’m saying it’s not the end all be all to how you win which is why kda should not matter. If it did then other people shouldn’t be bringing my rank down when they preform bad

Yes it does…It weighs your individual stats along with the win/loss. Your rank is your ability to function as a team and how well you play. If you constantly lone wolf and ignore your teammates you deserve the negative points for the loss regardless of your stats.
I lone wolfed in a recent slayer game. I went 15 and 9 while everyone else was above 12 deaths and negative. And they kept whining and complaining about call outs when in reality they are just bad. I ended up loosing this game because of them and the top player on the other team even messaged me gg because he knew that I ran a train by myself on all four players.
So your saying I should be punished for being elite? I should be punished because of bad teammates?
doesn’t account for individual skill
Yes it does. It’s your ability across all games you play. What does your individual contribution equate to across all the different teams and scenarios you are put into.
Your ability to work as a team is an individual skill.
So your saying I should be punished for being elite? I should be punished because of bad teammates?
You should be punished because you lost a game, however your performance will be acknowledged when working out your future rank.
It isn’t always the teams fault. Think less of what they did wrong and more about what you could have done differently to take the win. Sometimes the answer is nothing, you will always lose no matter if you play the game of your life. But often we could have done more to help out the team who are struggling. Your teammates are not responsible for your rank, you are.
Sounds like the “carry harder” BS I used to hear when I was in the champion ranks in halo 5. This is why I stop playing ranked after a couple of games because my individual skill isnt rewarded. And no working with a team isn’t individual skill. It’s team skill
You were in the champion ranks…?
If you are measuring an individuals contributions to different teams you are looking at their individual ability to work as a team. While a player may thrive more within a specific team, we are looking at their ability to fit into any team. That’s why other players are a higher rank than you, they do it better.
But if you are going by team skill logic, when you go positive and your team goes negative then you are just as bad as they are as the skill is split equally. So you should be punished as the loss is exactly 25% your fault.

You lost because you ran off on your own instead of staying with your team and helping them. Maybe if you didn’t run off your teammate would not have been screwed into a 2v1 scenario and your team could have gotten 2 kills and no deaths instead of a possible 1/1 trade or simply no trade and he died because you decided to believe you’re an elite player that wanted to lone wolf.

He boosts, and its painfully obvious that he does.
LMAOOO WHATTTT???
I didn’t die at the end. And I went positive. I didn’t loose because of me. I lost because of garbage teammates.
