I am a seasoned veteran returning to the game. In the first couple of seasons I was a high champion but due to work and life I quit playing for a couple months.
Today I bought ATN, I was hoping someone out there would give me a brief low done of the meta what leaders are viable what units etc.
Voridus is good leaving goo on the ground for 2 minutes, and pretty much other than a few exceptions everything is balanced and balanced except for Johnson, he still sucks.
I feel we should reduce infusion to 5 sec duration there are many ways to lengthen the duration like infusion tech infusion wake 2and 3 so just add 2sec with each upgrade I feel 5 sec is a good start and 8-10 sec is plenty of time for an engagement. Especially since you can keep throwing infusion down. I do think this would nerf cataclysm pretty hard so I think the damage should be buffed a little not much to compensate also overall infusion damage should still be nerfed at least slightly for the fact that replenishing infusion is quite easy.

Marines , flame, sniper rush. I faced that goo or gel and had no problem sniping his hero unit and walking right around the infected area . If he chose to stay in it my snipers went to work if he tried to go after them marines and flamers destroyed him fairly easy. Maybe the guy I played wasn’t a top tier player probably only diamond.
Either way, I see a lot of flame/rine rushes. I do the same so I’m not going to complain lol . As for banished, i have no idea what meta is best I don’t use them .

yapyap needs supply pickup buff so not just johnson.
Yea I’m a banished main. I was playing around the engee chooper rush with decimus and colony and when banshees we’re God tier.
K goo man is good check what about the other banished? Hopefully Arby and Colony are still good I used to play with them.
Oh and how could I forget my boy shippy with his locust rushes. That was love.

Spamming is the key to victory as per the usual. UNSC spams flamers and marines while Banished have a distinct disadvantage outside of Voridus, as they’re spamming units are marauders or banshees. Voridus had a solid early and late game, but a weak mid. Colony also has a Goliath rush, which is pretty effective. Either way, pick banshees nor marauders to spam endlessly, go into the other if you’re getting hard countered.

In 1s you can’t go air spam and win. In teams it’s easy to manage as well as long as you scout.

You know, whenever I used to someone claim air is “OP” or anything of the sort, I would write a long, detailed explanation of why it’s not. Usually, the person I was discussing this with would have very weak arguments and their main points would be the following:
You’ve never played anyone good going air
You’re only saying it because you spam air yourself
You clearly understand nothing about balance
(My personal favourite) they would ignore my points and plainly say “you’re wrong”
There is sometimes the odd person that adds a little more creativity, but their arguments usually boiled down to the same points.
Anyways, to save us both some time here, allow me to get right into it.
Ready?
Air is fine. AA is fine.
I will admit, AA natural focus fire is a tad annoying, but not nearly serious enough for air to be broken or anything like that.
If for, whatever reason, you don’t believe me. I encourage you to add me and we can perform as many tests as you like.

As stated, scouting and knowing they are coming never helps. The only good counter costs energy so it hurts more to counter than to be the one rushing with air.
