I’ve played previous halos and enjoyed them all ironically. The feel of this one is throwing me off. I’ve heard competitive players are enjoying arena, but I’m an average player that usually played btb. I feel winning in warzone is completely random. Also i sometimes play with friends and someone’s solo. Any tips?
Join a spartan company, network, give it a day or two for your motor skills to catch up. Halo 5 definitely feels different at first.
I understand. By christmas this game should have a lot more to it.
Forge is coming soon, so custom games might start being fun again like they were in Halo 3.
Big Team Battle is coming soon also. They’ve already added newer maps.
If you’re struggling, skill wise, I’d suggest practicing in an FFA custom game with only pistols. It’ll help you get better, even though there is an issue that I believe they’re fixing.
Try not to care about wins or stats and have fun.
Though I can’t bring myself to do it.
The most enjoyment you’ll get, being a player like you’ve described (somebody who likes Halo), is to sell it and put the money toward MCC instead.
BTB will be out in a week or two (I think?) so you have that to look forward to.
A good attitude for the req packs is “I wonder what cool stuff I’ll get this time”, instead of “I hope I get this one specific item than I need to have”.

What?
If I remember correctly, during Halo:CE years and years ago, you were either good using the M6D Magnum and had fun, or you were good with the Shotgun and had fun defending the base.
You’d probably have lot more fun if you had some Magnum skills. Either that or learn all the different ways to move around the maps in Customs and get good at outmaneuvering opponents and Ground pounding them.
In Warzone, get your BR unlocked as soon as you can and basically shoot anyone you can, don’t rush too much. And tunnel vision the bosses, so you are rewarded points.

Try disregarding all other Halos and pretending this is a new game outside of the series. I found myself disappointed when I began comparing it to previous Halos. I have a similar problem when I play H5, I tend to get frustrated with Arena and go to Warzone to attempt to have fun. I’m a four-time Onyx player and sometimes Champion and I have a hard time having fun.
Focus on getting Req packs and unlocking neat things. Playing with the ridiculously strong weapons are always a good time.
Yeah i’ve been switching it up between swat and the different warzones. Depends on the game as i’m hit or miss. I feel im somewhat decent with a br and pistol. I’m usually a ghoster, but this game has definitely toned it down as i struggle to get splatters or gun people down. I even got hijacked going full speed. Anymore it seems when i pull my ghost out i got the other team hiding in different places br’ing me to death in seconds.
try and discover some difficult trick jumps on all the maps. there are some jumps that require you to jump, use thruster, and use stabilizer, then clamber to reach. they are fun to pull off and they give you an edge when you can get to a good position in only a few seconds that would take other people 10 seconds taking the normal path. it’s always fun when you know something many other people don’t and you can use it to your advantage.
and if you’re dying too much and getting frustrated, find the person on your team who is doing the best and cover them while staying alive.
Don’t want to actually have to work to earn anything or give an effort? This is your game, just see how the REQ system works with using money to “earn” armor, weapon skins, and items for Warzone faster than actually playing the game.

Not everyone (me) likes using the BR. It’s probably just me: but I can’t use the BR for -Yoink!- to save the life of a flea, let alone me. The DMR is my God-Gun but sadly I won’t unlock it since it’s stupidly rare and requires REQ 6 (the only variant I have requires REQ 8)
Try and beat the campaign on legendary with your friends. That will keep you nicely challenged for a while.
Go back into WZs with the mentality to try and do something better or different. WZs are not completely random and the team that splits their resources better or generally “kills” better, will win.
Arena is not only for competitive players. I cannot stress this enough!
The ENTIRE POINT of having the different tiers is so you can get into a tier that is comfortable for you. Its doesn’t matter if you are “bad” or “good”. I get very tired of non competitive players saying they don’t want to play arena because they are casual or “not that good.” The bronze and silver tiers are there to scoop up all the low end players and let them play eachother so everyone can feel like they have a chance! Its not about getting into onyx! Its about getting into a tier that is proper for your skill level and gives you about a 50% chance to win every game.

You don’t have to be competitive to enjoy arena. Treat it like you would social slayer from previous Halo games. Just play, have fun. The beauty of the ranking system is it protects a fair playing space and preserves a high quality of game play for everyone.
The key is simply not to worry about your rank and to let go of your ego. Your rank as a shield protecting you from being abused from higher skilled players, and a shield preventing you from abusing lower skilled players. Its a bubble of quality game play.
The only difficult part is the opening 10 placement matches, where you could get put into games with significantly higher skilled players. Endure it. The placement matches are just testing where you belong. Get through them, get ranked, and then enjoy playing players at your skill level.

This is good advice I feel. I had to stop trying to compare it to Halo 3 which holds a very special place in my heart. It was my first serious foray into the halo universe and I got pretty competitive with it (on an old gamertag). I had to try and view this game for the merits it does have which are actually many. The req pack system is quite addicting actually keeps you interested in getting the new unlocks and when you get the more rare stuff it is exhilerating. Power weapons are great unless, like me, you feel like the second you purchase one you have a neon sign over your head saying “shoot me now so I just wasted six req coin things on this sniper rifle”.
I’ve really been enjoying the multiplayer. Even though I suck, it’s still a ton of fun and it feels great when things click and you finally pull off something really cool. I’m just enjoying learning the game. I dig that everyone spawns with the same weapons. It’s forced me to get better with the pistol. I finally learned how to assassinate last night (I’m obv a n00b) and pulled off an assassination in mid-air, which felt freaking awesome. Any tips would be welcome. I’m still struggling with the new moves like the ground pound thing and the new melee charge, but I feel like it’s simplistic enough to learn but really hard to master. I can’t even imagine the crazy combos you could pull if you were really good with the moves.
I mostly play Destiny, so the friendly fire thing caught me off guard. In a crowded room I accidentally killed a teammate because I was trying to shoot over his head at an enemy player and accidentally popped him, but you live and learn. I’m definitely having fun though. The 60fps is buttery smooth and it feels better than any other shooter I’ve played. I totally dig it. Any tips would be helpful. My K/D is terrible
They best way to have fun is the same across all multiplayer games, play with friends.
I’m getting it for Christmas and i can’t wait!
you gotta get really high
Goju Knight neither uses nor supports drug use
