Id like to know what type of algorithm the game uses to pair people up during matchmaking. does anyone know? it cant be your HTR number… im thinking it may be the win percentage? stats wise im about average. but today of all days it made me fight a guy with a 5.6 kd. no joke! so what gives?
Matchmaking is based on TrueSkill, Estimated Latency, Skill, and the presence of DLC.
This is for an ‘ideal’ match. If an ideal match cannot be determined, an ‘acceptable’ match is decided instead.
The acceptable match has no requirements on latency or skill (however a best-case lobby is still selected).
Yet i play against guests and people who suck all day, while I have a +7K kd and so on…
LOL there’s no true skill matching

Unsurprisingly, you don’t have a Gamertag linked.
Your talk is just that; talk.
You must have missed the part where an ‘acceptable’ match has no requirements on latency or skill.

If they’ve stayed true to past Halo games 343 uses trueskill and on a playlist by playlist basis. That means that regardless of what you play there’s always the chance you’ll see some severely undervalued player making their way up the ranks despite great performance elsewhere.
However I’m of the opinion that business of trueskill is a lie and all of matchmaking is decided by one drunken, dart throwing monkey named Zimbu. If you want to improve your matchmaking experience send Microsoft a crate full of bananas, labeled with your gamertag.
The logic is 'match Americans with people from other countries, give the Americans host, destroy international fan base, help Americans land overkills. Help Americans land overkills
