With all of the lovely things that have been revealed within the past few months; Campaign, Multiplayer (Spartan Ops, MatchMaking), Forge, Custom Games and the more-than-obviously-there Theater mode, there’s a lot of things to see - and a lot of ground to be covered (with buildings) regarding the details on these modes.
Whereas Reach had all but one of these, though Spartan Ops has seemingly replaced Firefight’s position on the list (Obviously can’t match up to the replacement, but can fill it instead), there have been numerous changes and improvements in all areas that will naturally affect the way we choose what we wish to do in the game.
Will you trek through Requiem?
Will you toil through numerous training exercises?
Will you mess around with friends in the endless expanses?
Or will you find yourself going through hours of building to create the best battleground?
campaign of course, MP 2nd, forge 3rd, spartan ops 4th, and last but not least theater.
the reason why I always play the campaign first is because I feel as though the campaign is a great way to learn the basics of a game plus halo always delivers great campaign so I know it’ll be fun.
why MP was my 2nd has to do with that after playing the campaign for 8 or so hours I don’t want to play anything like it for awhile, so the logical choice would be to play MP afterwards.
forge is 3rd because after I’ve played all the maps I not only want to study the maps a little more, I also want to design my own maps which typically takes away hours and hours of time trying to make the maps look all nice and perty.
spartan ops is 4th because I want to experience a little more of the campaign but I don’t quite feel up to playing the same story for a little while longer so I decide to play something similiar but different story wise.
the reason why theater is 5th is because I not only want to learn from my mistakes, I also like to just sit around and relax for a little while before going back into the halo groove.
I like to begin with the first mission of campaign. Following that i use forge/customs to get myself with the maps and all the sand box elements. Then i will start with spartan ops to slowly get in the mood for multiplayer. Finally i will jump to war games.
I will be playing Campaign first and foremost. After that, I will call up my friend to join me in a Custom Games lobby so we can 1v1 each other to get a feel for all the weapons, grenades, AAs, Armor Mods, etc before we go into Team Doubles in Matchmaking. Assuming there is Team Doubles in Halo 4 of course.
After playing matchmaking all night, I will go to sleep, wake up at a decent time, get some stuff done with school and work, come home, fire up Halo 4 again, move onto campaign assuming that I didn’t finish it the first day, try to finish Campaign and then jump right into Spartan Ops seeing as though it takes place 6-8(?)months after the main campaign. After all is said and done, I will jump right back into Matchmaking
First, I’ll play through a few Campaign missions. Then, I’ll hop onto matchmaking and try that out. After that, I’ll either play Spartan Ops, or mess around in Forge. I can’t wait!
Probably matchmaking. As excited as I am for Campaign, Forge, and Spartan Ops. I wanna sink my teeth into some good old fashioned killin’ people before the “new car smell” wears off. Everyone is usually on their best behavior for the first few weeks of a new Halo game.
I’ll probably play through campaign once first, but I am admittedly more excited for Forge. Although, I won’t be crafting “perfect battlegrounds,” but mainly Forge art. I like making aesthetic spaceships. I’ll probably make some Star Wars and/or Star Trek maps. I do try to make them at least somewhat playable, but for me the fun of building & making it aesthetically pleasing comes first.
