I’m new to Halo multiplayer in general. Sorry if it’s a dumb question.
Team arena has 14 gametypes that are a mix of slayer, ctf and strongholds on select maps that a deemed “balanced”.
Slayer is just slayer on all the maps.
Team arena is essentially the mlg playlist. That’s the difference between team arena and all other playlists in the game.
oh OK I thought team arena was just team death match cause I’ve only played it once and mostly played FFA. Thanks
The Slayer playlist has, well, only Slayer. It’s like Halo’s deathmatch. The Team Arena has Slayer, too, as well as Strongholds & CTF, which are more objective orientated.

If he’s new to halo multiplayer then comparing it to a playlist that used non-default settings that were used in tournaments by a company that no longer uses halo, back from a game 7years ago he’s never played probably isn’t exactly clarifying.
Saying something like ‘its designed to be the most competitive playlist’ might be more helpful.
My 2 cents.
Slayer the objective is just to kill, but team arena there is many other objectives (eg. CTF, strongholds, slayer)
Team arena has CTF, assault, strongholds. Slayer is just slayer
Slayer has just slayer but Arena has slayer as well as objective based games. Arena is what the pros play

Assault is no longer included.

I disagree. It is mostly a playlist for us to be able to play on the settings and maps that pros play. And yes, pros also play it.
Slayer is slayer. Arena is 3 games of slayer, followed by 1 game of ctf, followed by more slayer…
