Whats the deal with Halo CEA pricing?

Every video i watch i see Frankie saying it is $39.99. Today i went into EB-Games to pre-order it and it is $70 plus $10 to pre-order so that is $80 dollars. I say that it is meant to be $39.99 and they always say “No this is the price we sell it at, check who you are getting that information from because you are being lied to, this is the official price”. Everyone says this including Game and Gametraders. Is this illegal or have they changed the price?

If that’s true, then all I can say is don’t buy it from them.

Did you ask the retailer why the price difference? And is this a US price you’re talking about?/

1st are you in the us? 2nd when you pre-order you paying for part of it upfront not an extra $10.

I am in Australia and EB games is what Gamestop is in Australia. They charge an extra 10 bucks where i am for pre-orders (They say it is to reserve a spot for you)

Have you checked other retailers there in Australia?? Is that the price everywhere there?

You’re behind the times. Try Gamestop, the people who bought EB Games. Its [(http://www.gamestop.com/xbox-360/games/halo-combat-evolved-anniversary/91401)]$39.99]([http://www.gamestop.com/xbox-360/games/halo-combat-evolved-anniversary/91401) there.

It’s only $40 in the US. Due to shipping costs/exchange rates it is going to cost you more.

Here’s a thread where this has been discussed with some fellow Aussie’s.

I don’t know if this will help much, but maybe you can contact some of these guys and see what they’re doing. Also at the end I posted a link to an article explaining why this happens for Australians.

Well if it’s an international problem, it sounds like its a problem similar to the 3DS where it was the same about of dollars upon initial release as pounds AND euros. Stupid companies and their failure to convert moneez.

Thats your problem right there, its $39.99 in the US. But it is $70 in Australia. I could be wrong here, but aren’t games in Australia typically over $100?

I wouldnt worry, Canadians have been at a higher dollar for the past few months and it still costs 49.99 here

There is no Gamestop in Australia it’s called EB games over here. Also all the other stores are selling it around the same price 70, 80, 90 EB games is the cheapest at 70 + 10.

-yoinks!- -yoinked!- up… Hopefully it gets fixed. If not… um… FTS.

I paid $39.99 at Gamestop for mine.

That’s a serious rip off, OP.

Yes. All new releases are $110. They are even sneaking Assassins creed Revelations for $130 dollars and our Dollar is worth more than yours so we are paying triple plus a tiny bit.

Just Remember, everywhere but in the US (where the game was manufactured) costs more than it does in the US. This is especially true to countries where the product has to be Imported by plane or boat.

True, but can’t they just buy online at the bungie store once it comes out?

It’s listed at 40$ there.

Have there ever been any mass protests/emails/pettitions to get this stupidty fixed?

Pre-orderd from Game Stop so its around regular price. IDK what happend with you maby EB games charges more to try to get more mony. Game Stop is tough to compeate with with all there awsome deals. Or the cleark just cheated you.

EDIT: Im from the USA and i see your from another country. thats probably what it is.

$39.99 USD does not equal $39.99 AUS.

Everything is more expensive in Australia. Frankie was just talking about pricing in the states because PAX was in the US. Pretty simple concept to me.
