Halo 5 seems a bit like a frag frenzy when someone has one. It also seems to be worse than Halo 4 and Reach (I bring up these games since they had better mobility than the previous installments, like 5) and I think I’ve been noticing why. Ever since the start of this game, I’ve gotten killed by frags that defy physics, because they go one step further, or one step less.
In Halo 5, it seems like the magnets on spartan armor now affect how grenades work. If thrown directly at you, a frag has a chance to get caught in your armor. If thrown near you, there’s about a 99% chance that frag will gravitate towards you. So, if the frag has bounced once already and it’s just outside of your reach, it’ll gladly jump with some stored momentum right into the palm of your hand and kill you. And if a frag just misses you, it has a 45% chance for it’s first bounce to literally stop all momentum of the grenade, and it’ll sit right next to you.
I don’t know if it’s just some problem with me, but this happens noticeably more than in other Halos.

I think they realized that as a mistake and toned it down in Halo 2. Addressing the OP, I think the grenade spam is most prevalent in warzone not just because they are much stronger than in previous installments, but because there are 12 players on each team, each person spawns with two grenades, the armories are tight, enclosed places and you can pick up grenades from dead bodies. Thus the sheer amount of grenades in warzone is the main problem rather than the power of the frags,(which is still problematic to a certain extent but is necessary due to sprint and thrusters).
The real problem is that the maps are smaller than previous Halo games to fit the competitive crowd. But it works just like armor lock in Halo Reach if your always in a enclose area like a hallway then its powerful, but out in the open with all types of weapons and vehicles around you its not that big of a deal.

The quickest thing I noticed my first time playing Halo 5 is that grenades bounce EXTREMELY long compared to every other Halo. It’s very hard to lead your opponent or even know where they are going to land because of how long it takes for them to come to a rest.
“And what’s the deal with airplane food? I mean, really? A bag of peanuts?”
But forreals, I don’t know how I feel about grenades in this game. It seems like they have something about them that makes them nuts. Although I might be blinded by nostalgia goggz. Halo 3 DID have some serious grenade frenzies.

Agreed; it’s more the availability of frags that is the problem, and that’s why they are spammed.

Dude…I am like a grenade magnet. I’ve been hit stunned to >10% on a pretty consistent basis from either grenades deflecting off of teammates or as you said, gravitating towards the closest spartan, which is usually me. I 100% agree there’s something funky going on with the 'nades.
