What's the best way to get better at halo wars?

3v3 random matchmaking? 1v1 matchmaking? Party teams matchmaking? Skirmish ai? Or is there something else besides practice and experience that I am missing?

Doesn’t have to be out of those options.

Play the game, learn strategies for the gametypes you want to, and just play in matchmaking. There are always people on.

Learn how to rush and how to defend against rushes.

If you can’t handle the people in matchmaking - go into a “random #” gametype and just play more. OR play against the hardest difficulty AI. I can say that after I got good - playing the AI on the hardest difficulty is a joke. You just have to learn what to do in what situation. There are a lot of strategies, just have to know how to do them.

There really aren’t any ways of getting better at any game. But, I digress, there are tips that should be made known. Research and Attack. Not the other way around.

The ai isn’t terribly hard, even on legendary.

I just lost this game because they brought over hunters and hunters. Also, my team mate resigned on me. This was ua 3v3.

rushing is not good it means you have no skill
to win a 3v3 you better hav good teammates who dont quit and counter the enemy

Learn which Leaders have the best attributes to your liking,

I prefer Swarm and large army tactics, so on the UNSC side I find myself using Captain Cutter.
His personal units, the Elephant and ODSTs, make for great siege and swarm tactics.

On the Covenant Side, I almost always go for the Arbiter, as his personal unit, Suicide Grunts, which
are great for Ambush and Sabatuer jobs, coupled with Arbiter’s later cloaking ability lets you ambush enemies with a large force of explosives very well.

once you have the basics down get some buddys and learn how to superturtle its much more fun than rushing

scout and learn what counters what, grizzilies actually beat hunters

i hate ppl who resign at the begining of a game

To get better at Halo Wars is learning high level play. The only way to truely learn high level play is to play with people that are high level / mid level.

For Halo Wars random matchmaking, you have to be VERY resilient and pretty much on your own, now-a-days people care less of their teammates until the moment they are attacked or without arms. My strategy is that score does not matter, getting the job done is, I mass produce while in battle to have my army beefed right back up after a fight, and have them “poke a stick” at the enemy, keeping them in constant alert of an assault from me while I devise another plan. In the end my units die in stacking numbers, but I always come up on top.
That’s somewhat of my strategy. If you’d like to practice with me, send me a friend request.

Also be willing to use distractions that would most likely fool or keep an enemy confused on who to fire at (i.e scarab/tanks.)

Rushing does NOT mean you have no skill you noob LMFAO. If you’re in a 3v3 and the enemy team is say 2 generals and 1 recruit, why TF wouldn’t I rush the recruit and eliminate them from the game early on making it now a 3v2? There are quite a few brilliant rushing tactics thay if learned, can be EXTREMELY useful! Stop bashing people because they don’t play a game the same way you do. Makes you seem like a -Yoink- .
